I don't know how I missed this one but I am glad I found it now. A touching tribute to your son Jason who you learned to love from his earliest days. The picture in my mind of you rocking him to sleep and singing to him nightly as you battled with his asthma. As he grew to be a man you were proud of his work ethic and your devotion to your son hasn't changed in all of these years!
I love this poem and I hope you win the contest!
Thanks for giving us hope for people who battle asthma.

Oh Jesse, you can be so very sweet. And I thank you so very much for such kind words about my poem for my son. Yes asthma can be a very scary ordeal and I hope that you have yours under control now. Jason is 45 and still suffers, but has medication that he takes, but as a baby and child, he would get his worst attacks when we laid him down so I rocked him every night for years and that is how we both slept. May ER visits and I remember once on our way, he said, mommy am I going to die, and he was turning so blue, I really wasn't sure. But that is part of being a good mom, and if I have done anything right in my lifetime, that was it....... So I thank you again my dear friend for your kindness, as I appreciate it very much! Take care!

Thanks so much Jake! I have a hard time with people who don't express how they feel to their loved ones, because we can't assume that they always know. My husband said that he doesn't remember his mother ever telling him that she loved him. So through my love he learned to tell our kids, grandkids and we for sure always say it before we ever go to sleep. And have been for 48 years together. Thanks my dear friend for your very kind review and comments!

Oh Willie, thank you so much for this review that puts tears in my eyes. And before I respond to anyone else, I must go onto your page and find your poem to read. I agree that what and how we teach our children will make a big difference in how they turn out and I am actually three for three on that scale. After my God and Savior, there is no greater love than family and as they used to say, "they live what they learn."
