What an incredibly sweet and tender tribute to your son. I can see you sitting up through nights when he was suffering, holding him and reassuring him as only a mother can do. Now, with boys of his own, he will pass on the loving, caring parental spirit that you instilled in him.

Just lovely - thank you for sharing.

From reading this grateful poem, it is not hard, at all, to see why your son turned out so well. Your heart is on display here and it's lovely. As our kids write us appreciative cards and notes and we treasure them, I am sure he treasures this. This has beautiful presentation and specific details to support your main idea. The rhyme flow feels natural, almost conversational in nature. Well done!

I especially like poems that touch me to the extent that I tear up while smiling--like this one! It is also skillfully written and vividly descriptive
of your son's fine character and work ethic. Your love shines in every line!

Your words are full of love and show what a wonderful son you have. He is so talented with his job and the various extra duties he does at home. Excellent poetic form and use of words that makes the reader feel good.

You are lucky that Jason lives in a world of caring love from his parents. .. most of us have ups and downs with our parents. He never has to face any such adversity with his parents. What a joyful life to have a loving parent.

Your writing is full of parent love.

Thanks for sharing with us.

Thank you for reading and reviewing my poem about one of my loved ones.
However I am a little confused about a couple comments you wrote regarding my son. First of all I don't get where you see that Jason lives in such a perfect world of joy and never has to face any adversity. I wrote in the first stanza that he battled asthma and that we barely slept until it was won. Which means that back in those days he could only sleep in an upright position and that I rocked him at night in my arms until about the age of 8. At that time he was able to take the meds strong enough for an adult.
Three times we almost lost him because it was so bad. Then in his life he lost a few people that he treasured. He has had another serious health issue that made it very hard to work and had trouble keeping his family fed so he went to work regardless how he felt. His struggles were no different than anyone else's. I wrote this a while ago to show my son all the things that I loved most about him. The only time the word joyful was mentioned was the tears that I shed for being proud of how he handled adversity in his life.
I chose to keep it positive . Would you have rather heard me write one on how he struggled to pay hospital bills and hurt that he's been through? When I wrote to everyone in my family they were all done in the same way; reflecting on the good and what I loved most about them all.
My Dear Friend, I am editing this to you because I did not mean to come down on you, but thought that you didn't understand that just because we choose to write about all the good and the love, there are hardships here too. I truly apologize if I misunderstood your review and I ask for your forgiveness. I am not a cruel person and I couldn't stand it if I thought I hurt another human being. Once again, I am sorry for jumping to the conclusion that you were saying my son had it so good. I guess we never really know what is in the heart of another and I am hoping you are understanding of this as I didn't mean any disrespect to you either. Thanks again my friend for your review. God Bless!

That's a good one, Debi. It is always satisfying to have your children grow up to be successful. I have been lucky, also. My grandchildren have also turned out fine.

Isn't that just the biggest reward Paul, when we see that we did a good enough job that our kids and grandkids are all stable and know how to work and get along in society with respect for others. We too have lucked out and they know the thrill of earning every cent they make. I guess what is the real answer is to teach them about Christ at a young age so they go into adulthood being Christians. Thanks again my friend for the awesome review.

This is a beautiful tribute to your son Jason. He was fortunate to have you and your husband guiding him through childhood and into the fine adult you described in your poem. He sounds like a son the two of you can be proud of.

What a special heartfelt poem regardless of contest or not,
Debi. Your lines and rhymes worked well. I could see every-
thing you wrote. Every word exudes love and pride for your
son. Your picture is awesome as is the whole presentation.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes in the contest, Debi.
