Wow! This is a beautiful poem! The author's words are heartfelt, loving,
caring, admirable, descriptive and creative. I found these words filled meaning and unconditional love. The poem flows and connects well. The
artwork is awesome and compliments the words and theme of this poem.

.Thanks so much Maria, , for your very lovely review of my poem for my son.
I truly appreciate your kind words. This was written a while ago ago for a very special project. Throughout the years, I wrote poems for everyone in my family. (husband, children, their spouses, grandkids, siblings, w some prayer poems) Then made my biggest bucket list item, a 12x12 book, giving each w two large pages w their poem and pictures. The cover said Our Greatest Blessings are called Family w family photo on it. Then ordered for everyone for Christmas. What a glorious feeling that was! Thanks again my dear friend!

Debi, this is such a beautiful and heartfelt tribute to your son, Jason. I can feel the love, joy, and pride that he gives you. He is a wonderful son, father, and husband. Your poem reads and flows well. I especially liked:

Night after night, I held you so close
Precious memories that I'll always keep
(The endless love of a Mother)

Beautifully penned. I have two small suggestions:

As "the" boys started getting older
(Perhaps ... as "your" boys ...)

Also:
How "I" loved you, all of these years
(Perhaps, How "I've" loved you ...)

Debt, the above are two tiny, minor suggestions. You choose. It's your poem and it stands on its own merit.

This poem made me smile. Well done. A pleasure to read.
Please accept my virtual Six.

Thank you for sharing this writing prompt entry with us. My son, Jeff, also had us up many nights with asthma. I know how hard that was until we found the correct medication. Jeff also turned out to be a wonderful man, husband, and father of his three children. His heart is as big as the world. But...he was also my wild child. Oh my!!! I learned everything that doesn't work as a parent from him. LOL He did outgrow it. I enjoyed reading about y our wonderful son. I am positive he knows how much he's loved.

I bet they'll cherish this book for years and pass it down to their kids.

I sure hope so. I always wanted to make it before I died and Lol, since I don't know when that will be, now I don't have to worry about that anymore.
I think your boys seem like awesome kids Barb and I always think how cool it is after raising all boys that you got those beautiful granddaughters. Aren't grandkids the best? Thanks again Barb!

I do dearly love my grandkids. The teens text me almost every day. The little one's parents, send me almost daily photos so I can keep up with them. I wish we all lived closer.

I bet that is hard, but you have such great teens that love their grandma. I am sure that helps a little. I feel for those who don't appreciate their family. So sad! We are truly blessed Barb!

Their dad was my wild child. With all of his previous faults, family is the most important to him and he instilled that in his children.

This poem, My Awesome Son Jason, is one that would humble me, if my mom wrote such a tribute. I'm certain he was pleased to read and know that your work on him has been passed on through to your grandkids. Great tribute to your son.

I thank you so very much my friend. I wrote poetry for everyone in my family, so every once in a while it is nice to introduce one to my awesome friends here on FS. I appreciate your very kind review and comments and I thank you so much for saying that Jason looks like me, as both of my girls take after their dad's side. Lol, even though I must say, poor kid. : )

Debi,

This is absolutely beautiful and you have told us just enough to give us a peek at your intimacy without becoming maudlin. I can understand how proud you would be of the baby (person) you were gifted to bring into this world -- a true blessing.

Sue

Extremely important to let our children know we love them. You did just that in this poem Debi. What a grand tribute to someone I have to believe is a wonderful son. Hang onto him and never stop telling him how you feel. Too soon, they are gone.

Wonderful tribute.

This work has reached the exceptional level

The objective correlative of your work reminisces the joyful tears of mother over her dear son, who in spite of all odds turned out to be an ideal father, son and husband.

The work highlights his doldrum years as a child; how he was able to dovetail through into manhood with a malleable and accommodating heart that saw him through to be cherished and admired by his mother.

The work earns its texture through its effective use of similes and imagery.

Exceptional work. Keep the flag flying.
