Good use of words to create a moment. Can see the flowers, imagine the breeze. Little bit of a flow issue. It's hard to differentiate from one line to the next for me, but otherwise I like it. Calming.

It's not easy to write a rictameter that actually makes sense and flows naturally. I love orchids and can appreciate how this flower inspired this beautiful piece. Should do well in the contest.

I dislike the word 'splendid' to mean striking, gorgeous, or beautiful. I always hear it uttered by some British, Dr. Watson-type man whose is essentially disguising that he is an intellectual cripple. 'Splendid' also seems to me a word that wishes to say something more grand about a topic questionably worthy of greatness. And orchids are truly a great and beautiful topic that probably require straightforward words for their descriptions, words that sidestep the associations present in a word like 'splendid.' Perhaps my objection is odd; this poem is otherwise excellent.

Frank, I certainly appreciate every word and while you do have a point of view, my perspective of an orchid is as follows:
adjective: having great beauty and splendor, Therefore it appears to me as a splendid example.

You took a difficult format and wrote a good poem. The syllable count is on point. The text makes sense. The visual fits perfectly. However, the font as a cursive text needs to be larger so each line may be clearly seen and understood. Well-done! Good luck in the contest.

I can tell that you are simply intoxicated by the orchid flowers on a plant. They are rather intriguing. Erotic. Mysterious and so open to communicate. It must be the the drawing of the scent. Nimbly nodding stood apart as excellent alliteration, but it all works nicely together. Enjoyable to read. Good luck in the contest :)

This is such a beautiful poem! The description of the orchid (a flower I dearly love) is so clear and precise. The "nimble nodding" alliteration is particularly pleasant, and the opening and repeated word, "Splendid" is exactly right. I think this is a most appealing Ricktameter. Good luck in the contest.

Love the sensual personification, turning visual admiration into something deeper and more connective. Effe time use of alliteration and some beautiful phrasing top this off.

This is the first Rictameter poem I've read since the contest began - it's beautiful! You've done such a great job of keeping within the guidelines while painting a picture of one of my favorite flowers. I like the way the words gradually widen and then narrow on the page, and the image you used is lovely.

Great entry - good luck!
