Hi Wendy,
Maria's mistake was accepting his invitation when they just met. She never should have accompanied him to his house that night. She didn't know anything about him. He could be a serial killer! Many girls are too trusting.
Good entry for the 75 Word Flash Fiction contest! I wish you Good Luck.
She recognized him from her dream? Wow! She based a call to police on a dream? That's scary.
Hugs,
Kimbob

Thanks Kimbob. Fortunately she didn't go to his home - the bathroom was at the dance venue. Just as well. And she phoned police from there. Thanks for reviewing, always appreciated.

Ah, I missed that, Wendy. I thought she went to his home and that's where she excused herself to visit the washroom.
"Maria excused herself. Bathroom visit first." This was at the dance before they were going to leave.

That's fine. No worries - I may not have been clear enough. It's very hard to keep to only seventy-five words.

Great entry for the 75 word flash fiction contest. This is one time when it was good for Maria to remember her dreams, and be smart enough to figure out how to stop them from coming true.

This is quite a twist on the man-of-her-dreams theme, Wendy! I love it. Wouldn't it be wonderful if our dreams could always warn us of the hurtful things we might face, so we could avoid them? lol Well done. Good luck in the contest.

Oh, great twist for this 75 word flash! Wish we were all blessed with this sixth sense!
I was reading that date rape drugs are on the rise again...so much so that there are several companies making products to slip over your drink as soon as it is served to diminish the chance of someone slipping something in your beverage.
"Duct tape and a couple edges dagger.". Yikes. So much for looks and charm!

It's a sad state of affairs, isn't it! So glad you enjoyed this one with its twist, but it is unfortunately not an unlikely scenario. Thanks so much for reviewing.

I love this! Her dreams always come true:-)
I love these dribble flash fiction challenges, as I feel the really talented writers are the ones who excel with them.
Great twist at the end, we'll done.

That was no dream, that was a nightmare!
2nd Para, 3rd sentence: (Mr Right".) should be (Mr. Right.")
Very observant young lady, and a quick thinker.

Well you almost had me there!!
In Australia we don't use a full stop after "Mr" but then I thought I had better check. So here's the lengthy response. Both are acceptable. Love your review, and please continue to feel free to check these things with me. We're dinky-di mates now!
Wendy
If you're following US convention, put a period (full stop) after the title (known as a contraction). For example:
Mrs., Mr., Ms., Dr., Prof., Capt., Gen., Sen., Rev., Hon., St.
If you're following UK convention, you have a choice whether to use a period or not. Even though lots of Brits now follow the US style, most adhere to the following ruling:
If the last letter of a contraction is the same as the last letter of the whole word, then don't use a period. For example:
Mister > Mr
(The last letters are the same.)
Professor > Prof.
(The last letters are different.)

Thanks for the explanation my dinky-di mate. :) I'm always ready to learn, and, hey, you're a teacher. So, it works just fine.

Comment from Michaela Moore
I love that she wins in this situation. You give it a light-hearted feel until the police arrive, which surprisingly twists this story into the looming evil. Wonderfully woven. I also like that she dreamed it and she is the one who calls the police.

Good for Maria. I enjoyed reading your contest entry. You told an entire story, with all the necessary elements, and used only a few words. I'm impressed. It takes me 80,000 words. Good luck with the contest.
