Insightful and unique. Well expressed. A scary subject, well explored...good prose-style voicing.

Two nits:

*
Making too much polution,

Spelling typo: two Ls in pollution
*
And people who require more assitance

Spelling typo, missing one 's': assistance

Superb pun in the closing line, packing a punch:
Life will reach its logical conclusion.

Compassion is mandatory for our survival!

Hugs,

Thanks so much for your encouraging words as always, and your suggestions. It's always great to hear from you, my friend. I liked your two posts today. how long are you going to be around here? estory

Thanks, dear friend. I'm a member now but have little time for it because of ghostwriting, editing and pet sitting plus taking care of mom. I'm glad to be busy and climbing out of debt, but all my editing and writing energies get used up off-site and I prefer to use downtime in other ways. So my visits will be sporadic for the next few months.

    Hugs,

You have succeeded in your aims with this thought-provoking piece, and it is not too far for prom present realities. Some older people are too high risk for operations, some disabled folk find their supports and medical help are cut. It's a frightening prospect unless we remember who is ultimately in control, and that He will comeback and rule with righteousness and peace. Hopefully soon.

Thanks for the sympathetic words supporting my theme here. Logic is no substitute for love, especially the love of Christ. I am glad my piece got so many people thinking. estory

estory, yikes ... the unexpected result of man's unquenched thirst for more and more only to ultimately cave into AI (artificial intelligence) is more real than I want to truly imagine. I am all for the handshake, using cash, not cards or bits and bytes to conduct business, smiles, oh yes, smiles even behind a mask, we can and should smile with our eyes. But then, I am getting long in years and would love life to be more ... unplugged
A VERY GOOD WRITE, THANKS

Thanks for the sympathetic words in support of my scary theme here. I am with you 100%. I don't even have a cell phone. Real life is where it's at, not the so called metaverse. Who wants to live in a cartoon world? estory

Very powerful piece. We are indeed creating our own demise.

-Your writing integrates many compelling themes and a sad, shocking reminder, it seems, that we live in a world that has no use for the useless.

We live in a world of excess and under duress, oil spills, pollution...Your poem is a reminder and a wake-up call, using powerful imagery to convey.

Very moving poem.

Thanks for the words in sympathy for my scary theme here. I am glad it got so many people thinking of what life could be like if we cede too much control to machines and their logic. estory

According to a Google engineer, they have already made a sentient robot, a robot with self-awareness and human-level intelligence. Therefore they may have emotion. According to some, human population must collapse in ten to twenty years due to the low birth rate. This is why Chins is encouraging people to have three children instead of one. They don't have enough young people to support the growing old population.

Well done.

Estory,
Your thought-provoking work touches on so many important issues.
I know you were being the devil's advocate, but there are some people who really do feel like the protagonist in your poem, and I take umbridge to it because I am disabled.
Your essay is extremely effective. A cogent way of getting a point across.
Good luck with this one.
Blessings,
Cindy

Thanks for the excellent review and your perspective on the piece. I am trying to get across the dangers of ceding too much control to machines and logic. It is compassion and love that comes from God that seperates man from the rest of creation. Including his own. estory

Absolutely, computers are there to calculate the pro and cons,, who to eliminate and not and so forth. It is chilling reading, alright. Now, in the past, wars took care of the overpopulation, but that is less desirable today with all our mass destruction weapons. A difficult situation we're all facing. Ulla:)))

Estory, you have presented a very logical and well constructed poem about how computers, in the wrong hands, can be the end of civilization as we know it. One would hope it doesn't work out the way you depicted, but one never knows what happens when we allow the creation to have power over the creator.

Great job,
Rhonda

I can't see anyone attempting to cut back on our dependence on computers and other electronic equipment. It will likely get worse. Movies have been made of computers and robots taking over the world. It could happen.

I have not allowed computers or technology to take over my life. When they mess up, which they do, they mess up big time and it's almost impossible to get corrected. Thank you for sharing. I enjoyed reading.
