All I see is life's setting sun. Such a powerful line. Yet, illusive. Your sun seems still rising. Many of your poems are inspirational. They convey to me, another person marching towards the eighties, that good writers continue to create beautiful thoughts for others to relish. Always love your poetry. Michael

It is quite remarkable Jay, that you are still writing beautiful poetry, thoughtful and wise, at the age of ninety-eight. Congratulations. Your words are a lovely reflection of your days on this earth, and of the wife you loved so dearly, as well as of dear friends made on your journey. ell done.

This is absolutely lovely, wending it's way through themes of life and live, joy and regret. We have all the time in the world until suddenly we don't. I very much enjoyed the read.

Jaybird, your sage wisdom drips through every word about the realities of living beyond many of our known friends, the challenges wrought by the body, and accepting the mystery of what lies ahead! I learn something from each and every one of your posts, thank you, sir!

As with myself, we will reconnect with our spouses. We will not have to worry about anything. We have been able to walk on earth, and next to walk in heaven. I enjoyed reading your poem. Age is just a number. We must enjoy our life until God is ready for us.

Jaybird, you are an inspiration. All I can hope is I'm still breathing at your age. You also prove that creativity knows no bounds. I trust you personally draw as much satisfaction form your writing as we Fanstory readers do.

poignant poem about regrets and aging makes me somewhat sad. perhaps the first two lines should rhyme? The meter in the second line does not seem to match that of the rest of the poem.

At 98, dear Jaybird you are still writing beautiful and heartfelt poems of your life and your observations that have enriched your readers.

To have a journey that has lasted almost a century is something truly amazing! There are ups and downs on this road, but you've certainly had more of the positive than negative. Keep smiling - the journey is not over.
