This is an excellent poem in all respects--well written, moving, and expressive of a powerful message about looking back on one's life--the
"regrets" and "battles won" . . . the words we wish we'd said. I've heard some people say they look back and have NO regrets. I just don't comprehend how that's possible!

Hello, Jaybird:
This is a very touching poem. I feel your sadness through your words, but it's not too late to celebrate life too, whatever it may bring.
My father was in the same position as you: He was in his 90's and all of his classmates and friends were gone, except for one other man. My dad loved life, but last year it was time for him to join my mom in Heaven.
I suffer from depression, Jaybird, but every day is a gift to me. I hope you have much joy and happiness every day too.
Good luck in the contest, sir. Keep writing your beautiful poetry.
Blessings,
Cindy

nice poem about growing old and realizing that the end of the road of life is coming up. You have lived so long and seen so many people die that is one of the side effects of living a long life losing so many friends and family before the end.

Very well done. I can relate though I am only 82. I happily now know where I will soon go. Not an easy life most of it, but grand now. Making up for a lot. Congratulations on so many allotted days. Blessings, Barbara

Nice poem. Nice story. Very well written.
The least I can do is let loose of a sixth star.
Though I am young (71), I, too, know the sense of loss when all I've considered 'friends-closer-than-a-brother' are gone on.
God bless and best wishes.

Nice presentation. Your words flow well with descriptive words that express clear emotions and paint deep mental pictures. Rhymes don't seem forced.

Thank you very much for sharing.
