A very well-written piece, and I like the way you linked the emotion of loss with the scent of lilacs, and brought it full-circle. You expressed the feelings very well and with smooth rhyme and metre. Best wishes.

This is a good poem. The rhyme scheme is consistent except in one spot. The last line of verse #1 and the first line of verse #2 rhyme} room and soon. I would change that area, so the rhythm of the poem and your rhyme scheme is not thrown off kilter. The gif visual is great. The colors being all gray fits too because this isn't a happy poem. I like that the last verse mirrors the first verse. Good luck in the contest.

You are welcome.

Your tale of woe is a familiar one; nevertheless, you evoke sympathy for the Speaker. You describe how Springtime love disappeared when he fell for another. I like best the stanzas describing her now empty bed at night and his lingering scent. Rod

This poem deserves a six for sure. It is more like a story than a poem, and I loved it. The artwork is more than perfect too. I look forward to more of your writing. Best of luck in the contest.
