I literally laughed aloud while reading this. If I reached into my purse and grabbed a gecko, I would probably want to leave the state, too. Thanks for sharing, and best wishes to you.

They're adorable little creatures and are completely harmless. It just not what I was expecting. He's still someplace in my kitchen. Thank you for the kind review.

-It is a cute little gecko, but I wouldn't want one in my purse, either!
-I think the whole country is in a heatwave. We are in NJ and our temperatures have been 90's and occasionally low 100's. The humidity is bad in this part of the country, too.
-I can't imagine eating hot good in a hot climate. I'd go for the ice cream!!
-Do your sons live in cooler climates?
-Although the weather map is show almost all red and orange across the country!
-Thanks for sharing and hope you feel better!!

Two live in Missouri and one in Florida. My youngest lives on the Gulf Coast in Texas. It's really humid there, at least we're dry. They also have mosquitos the size of Rhode Island. LOL Thank you for the kind review.

You are welcome and thanks for sharing. Growing up we went to visit my grandparents in St. Louis in June, and it was really hot, but there wasn't the humidity!

Wow. He is so cute and beautiful. Texas might be hot, but it has the cutest and friendly gecko in the world. I have seen plenty geckos but I have never seen in someone's purse.

Northern Minnesota is very cool, around 60F and 70F in the summer. We just got back from my condo on Lake Superior. Will go there again in two weeks.

Come for a visit.

Of course, the summers are always hot in Texas, but I don't think I've ever seen anything like this summer there. The heat bad enough, but the storms seem to have multiplied too. But, although not nearly as hot as Texas, but the whole country has been nearly unbearable this year. We've been having heat advisories three or four days a week all the way up in Cincinnati, Ohio, and the humidity has been stifling. Keep cool if you can! :-)

Thank you for the kind review. We don't have the humidity in my part of Texas. My youngest son lives on the Gulf and the humidity there is unreal. When I open his apartment door it slaps me in the face. I bet he has geckos too. I haven't seen any. I know he has mosquitos the size of Rhode Island. LOL

I kept a home on the gulf for 19 years; although, I only stayed there a few months a year. In Florida, not Texas. No, I didn't avoid it because of the humidity, just traveled all the time. LOL.

NOPE!!! It was the humidity, I know it. LOL

I love it! And totally agree. While we do have high humidity here, I understand what you mean. For example, here, they tell us with the heat index 98 feels like 107. Well, to me, if it feels like 107, it IS 107. I had to laugh about the gecko in your purse!

He was a cute little guy, but should NOT have been in my purse. Thank you for the kind review.

Your weather is exactly like ours in the UK. We've never known anything like it, and we've heard it's going to be the norm here! We are on hosepipe bans now, because rivers and lakes are drying up, I can't remember the last time we had rain. I'd join you in Alaska, but I don't do cold, either!! I'm sure that cute little gecko thought it was nice and cool in your purse!! LOL! :)) Sandra xx

After I screamed, I set him down. Unfortunately, he's someplace in my kitchen. He was adorable but should not be in the house. Thank you for the kind review.

I think I'd be the same, I'd scream too! You don't expect to touch a living creature in you bag! Lol. I'm sure he'll come out of hiding when he's hungry. Leave the door open and put some food just outside. I know they like chips! xx

I figure my dachshund, or one of my two cats will discover him. I just hope I'm around so I can assist him outside.

My vote is Texas, since I live here. It's a big place, but I live SE of Dallas. I wish I could say we have nice weather, but you've read the news... Still, you are quite welcome, and we have geckos, too, lol.

See you soon,
Rhonda

Lol. That's how I feel about living in Atlanta. We want to move to Seattle where one of our daughters lives. By the way, what did you do with the gecko? Thanks for sharing.

After I screamed, I put his down. He's someplace in my kitchen. I think he was just as shocked as I was. He was just a baby. Maybe two inches long.

Well, welcome to the club, Barbara.I know exactly what you're talking about. From May up until now, we're breaking all records. It's going to be one of hottest summers ever here and that does say a lot. We are used to them. What is unusual is that the heat came on this early. We are in the same boat. We just have to grin and bear it. Hugs, Ulla:))

A fun anecdote, but I just know I would have screamed if I'd pulled such an animal out of my handbag. Talk about fear factor. Kate xx

Actually, I wrote this in about 10 minutes. Not a lot of editing. I simply wrote it as I posted. I was very neglectful of my writing this time. LOL I did make the corrections and appreciate the help.
