Of course for those who believe, what's on the other side we hope is the realm of angels and of God, and we hope we join that beautiful land, where all is joy, peace, harmony and love. Beautifully written my friend, blessings Roy

You're so right. Death is something we all must face. God has all our days and we can trust Him. None of us know the timing.

It is always a pleasure reading you, Mr. jaybird. Three more years and you'll be a century old. How cool is that? My grandmother Sarah lived to be 103. Don't be in such a hurry, there are more great poems in you yet.

Jaybird1,
Although the subject matter is a bit repetitive (the inevitable coming of the final breath), your poems are constantly splendid in voice and tone and structure and intent... and always about Love.
Thank you!!!
Richard

You did a great job expressing your thoughts and feelings
about death. I enjoyed reading your poem, though it was
poignant, Great work with the rhymes, the flow, the word
choices, and the great and true message.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

In all of your poetry, I sense a life well-lived, Jay. Your love poems to your wife never fail to make me smile. It is not easy to perceive our mortality, though we all know it confronts us at any moment! I pray that you maintain serenity and trust in God. You are living life with grace and sharing your poetry with all of us and that is our blessing!

I agree with you that facing death is scary. It's more the passing that is scary, it's the one part of life that we have no idea what happens. Once we get passed that part, I hope our loved ones will be there to greet us and lead us on. Your dear wife is surely waiting for you, my friend. It gets lonely the older you get, doesn't it? I enjoyed reading your poem, and the positive note it finished on. Love and hugs, my friend. Sandra xx

It isn't easy. We all love life so much, yet each day is another day closer to the end. No matter if we are young or old. We don't want to die. I said it once in a poem. "Loving life, avoiding death." Yet we know it is waiting for us. God Bless you Bill. Nancy:)
