This 5-7-5, The artist and the Artist, has the proper formatting and suggests to me that this creativity reveals itself in many ways. Nice.

Argh! I missed the vote! No worries, you managed the win anyway! (Smile)

Love the presentation here...

Artist and artist work in harmony, and behold!

How brilliant the sky!

Congrats!

This is a cool poem with a cool presentation. Love how colorful it is. Although the font is cursive it is still easily read due to its size. The visual is perfect for the text. Good luck in the contest.

When I first read this, I thought you had missed the 5-7-5 by including only six syllables in the second line. I did a little research and I learned something about syllables. Orange is indeed two syllables.

"A syllable is the sound of a vowel that is created when pronouncing an A, E, I, O, U, or Y." (howmanysyllables.com)

The genius thing I was comfortable with already. I only had questions about "orange."

So, the poem is as good as it was when I thought the second line only had six syllables. But now that I know better, it's really good.

Good job.

Thank you very much Gary. I was a bit surprised how "orange" could be pronounced without two syllables ....? But I am glad I can count to seven without problems. Lol.
reply by GARY MACLEAN on 15-Aug-2022
It must be how I speak but I sound like I say "orange" all in one syllable. But I was wrong. Live and learn.

I know you had some concerns about genius, but that one I never even considered, I always thought it was three syllables. Funny, how differently people view things.

    Again, live and learn.

I really like the artwork you've chosen to write on.
Artist flings his paints
I'd love to be able to 'fling' paint like this.
Nicely done with this 5-7-5 poem, and good luck in the contest.
cheers

Beautiful picture of fluorescent oranges and golds. This artist does look
like he has accomplished the status of "genius."
For your lines, I count 5 syllables, six syllables and four syllables.

    Thanks for reviewing.
Line 2: "Fluorescent (3), orange (2), "and" (1), "gold" (1) gives a total of seven syllables.
Line 3: "Genius" (3), "at" (1), "work" (1) gives a total of five syllables.
You must pronounce things differently from me! Cultural differences perhaps.

Forgot the word and - Line 2
Let me know about genius. The
    American Dictionary shows gen-ius.
I will change rating to 5.

Yes, that explains it then. I am Australian and we pronounce "genius" with three syllables, as does the syllable counter 'wordcalc'. It's a cultural difference and I had better add a note to that effect in the Author's Notes. Thank you for changing the rating. I appreciate that a lot.

I like to believe an artist can duplicate the original of what "The Artist" has done. To imagine, having the fireworks explode, morning, noon and night, everyone an original. Who does that?

I really enjoy reading your poem and looking at the great art. Those colors pop. They are so relaxing, as if you were looking at a summer day. Or watching fireworks in July. Thank you for sharing this great poem.

I like how your poem alludes to both a human artist and God and their "technique" for painting the sky at Dawn or Sunset.
I can easily visualize the "canvas" each is using for their work. Rod
