I love the pairing of Pharoah with arrow - a perfect near rhyme amongst several very imaginative bedfellows. Indeed, memories can be a boon and an anchor, and they wheedle their way into everything!

Great sonnet.

Mike

The author's words a gave a great description of one's memories. Many times certain memories bring on pain which we must work through. The author describes well the power of these painful memories. The poem flows and connects well. The artwork goes well with the theme and words of this poem.

I was never a fan of sonnets until I joined FanStory. Since then, I have become a huge fan of them, and this sonnet is one of the reasons why. How could anybody not love reading this sonnet? Anyone who reads will fall in love with is.

You are such a whiz at sonnets! This is beautifully penned, well rhymed and metered, and magically blends microchips and pharaohs in one poem seamlessly!

How do you manage that???

A.T.E. is smiling down upon you...

He'd definitely give this six stars!

Thank you so much for the great review and the six stars, Karen. Sonnets are my thing, and they are easy for me to write, after having written so many including the crowns of heroic sonnets.

ATE did give me sixes for my sonnets, yes, and he probably knows I wrote this one (smile). I hope for a virtual six from him. Ah... thank you so much, dear mentor - I owe him a lot.

Glad you enjoyed this one and that the colors came our all right.

Imagine him channeling his six stars through me! If anyone can do it, surely he can!

    You ARE my sonnet mentor!

    As for "Crowns and Heroics?"

    Above my pay grade!!

I love Sonnets. They're my favorite style. I liked the artwork you chose for your writing. It really pulled me into the poem before reading it. The poem is well worded, has non-forced rhyming, and has great rhythm.

Yes, memories are precious and I like how you show us all sides of them from the mystical "ghosts," the demanding sounds that require our attention, and they are stored in our brains' microchips.

Yes, some memories sure do
haunt like ghosts, I think
some funny ones can too.
It can be difficult to eradicate
bad memories. Your poem
here is stunning. The use of
the photo is beauteous.
Blessings to you. ~

This is so true. Memories become interwoven into the tapestry of our lives and are difficult to unravel or remove. Happy ones, sad ones, painful ones - all come crashing down at the most inconvenient times.

Yet often memories could strike an arrow
that get our wounds to open up again --
And all the gold of an Egyptian pharaoh
could never take away the burning pain.

This is the first poem I've really liked here. I was planning on a sonnet myself but thought it would be too hard. You have inspired me to have a go.
I wondered if 'gosts' and 'cascating' are wrong. Perhaps 'gosts' is American spelling, but couldn't find 'cascating' in dictionary. Did you mean cascading?
I liked the rhyme 'go' and 'beau' it was unexpected, very good.

Thank you for the great review and the six. It's supposed to be "ghosts" really, and I fixed it.

Glad you liked my sonnet. It's my favorite form, I have a whole portfolio of them. Let me know if you need help creating a sonnet, and I'll be happy to help.
