Aww, that was so sad! But I love the feel of the poem, it was a wonderful story in a poem. They were hard times back then, and there must have been many 'Bobs' out in the wilds dying of the cold. Well done, I really enjoyed this well written poem. :)) Sandra xx

I log the authentic dialogue here Willie and this sad story is heart-rendering and very sad. How sad for poor Bob and I am glad he had his final wish to be buried under the tree where he died, love Dolly x

The author's words were clear, upsetting, interesting, caring, descriptive
and creative. I pondered on the theme of these words and thought about
what a wonderful person to wait! I also thought about how caring it was to continue to look for him! The author's words were sad, yet, I
found meaning in these words. The artwork is awesome!

You did a great job with the cowboy dialect. It sounded
authentic. I liked the perfect picture and the cursive font.
I could imagine this as I read it. Your words were well thought
out and sounded just like an ol' cowboy speaking about
another ol' cowboy. That way of life is/was in their bones.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

I am former law enforcement, too... the other coast. I escaped from New York City because the light at the end of the tunnel was Jersey City. I have to tell you that your poem really reminded me of an album I listened to when I was a kid back in Central Missouri called the Sons of the Pioneers. They had songs about cattle drives, dust storms, tumbleweeds, water waiting on the other side of the desert, ghost riders, everything (except a bitterly cold winter). Go figure! Thank you for your poem and your service to the country!

Thanks Tom, I feel sorry for those guys today. You couldn't pay me enough to be a cop today. And thank you, my friend, for
your service. I'm 84 years old, I grew up with the Sons of the Pioneers. Thanks for the review, Tom.

This is a terrific verse about you and your dear friend, Bob, may he rest in peace.
I am sorry for your loss, as I am sure this memory is not an easy one to recount.
Your poetic storytelling ability is excellent. You have successfully word-painted
the scene as it played out.
I could feel the snow and wind as well as the despair consuming you.
I appreciate the smooth flowing rhymes and overall presentation.
Thank you for sharing.

If there was a seventh star to give, I would shine it here. Witty. Takes me to the high country of Montana, or Wyoming. I visited a ranch near Milliken, Co., and many of the ranchers could have been Bob's kin.

Willie, This is a very well written poem you have penned in Cowboy lingo. You used very good descriptive words, and it sounded like a cowboy talking as I read it. Thanks for sharing. Blessings, Teri

A well-written and beautifully told story. You are truly a talented storyteller.
I enjoyed the western lingo. It enhanced the story.
Best wishes,
Mary
