Well done Willie. A darn good tale my friend, of a man who was tossed by his his and had wanted to be buried up there on the mountain side, with in the climes of the old tree, and he got his wish, sadly frozen to death. Beautifully written Willie, well done, blessings Roy

Poor Bob.

What a unique poem this is - I love the Western lingo, it sounds so natural and really added to the feel of the place.

Well rhymed and great little story. That last line - terrific!

Willie,

Your poem shows a natural talent for western poetry. I enjoyed the read. You nailed the language and character of western cowboy speech in the creative write.

All the best,

Eugene

great cowboy poem. I am a fan of the style, akin to Hobo poetry also dating from the 30's. Like that you wrote in cursive, brown ink adds a certain flare to it.

I love d the cowboy lingo. I have to ask Willie is this a fictional story or did poor Bob really die up there? If wouldn't matter you gave him what he asked for in death and then some. He knew you would. Best JohnC.

I enjoyed this poem story. I can imagine the cowboys going out in a snowstorm to look for cattle and getting trapped by the storm. I can also imagine the remaining cowboy writing this story about how he lost his friend. It is so sad because it seems Bob died in a place he loved with a smile on his face. He was sort of obscessed with death and it seem that this was as it was meant to be. Nicely written.
