A quiet time in your lives here. A chiropractor in the family! How nice. My Brother-in-law went to School for that, received his license for one of the Southern States, but had to quit because his wife was jealous of the ladies who flocked to his office. He was very handsome. LOL I could use one now, my neck and back. Good story as usual. Nancy:)

The wife my son has now is jealous of anyone who had anything to do with Don. That is why she is planning to be his receptionist, starting next month. LOL

I can understand Maxine being nervous after that plane crash killing all those people. I'm a nervous flyer, too. This was a busy time for you, Beth, your family need you all the time and, as parents, you're always there. It's our job! Lol. But one day they will discover what it's like. My son is always asking me 'did you give in to me like that?' when his are doing what he did at their age!! Lol. I just sit and smile. I enjoyed this part, but from your last words, it looks like there is going to be more strife coming on! I'll be watching out for it. :)) Sandra xx

Your son sounds like my kids. They can't seem to remember what they were like growing up. That is one of the reason I'm writing this.to jog their memory. Of course, it is my perspective and their view would likely be different, if they could remember.

Thank you for sharing these memoirs with us. Life is definitely interesting and keeps us on our toes. I can understand the desire wanting to travel and feeling it's not possible because of obligations.

Thank you Barbara. I always wanted to travel and I hoped we could when we retired. My husband didn't care about traveling. He'd do it to please me, but not because he enjoyed it.

"The Summer of '96" is a chapter from the book "Remembering Yesterday." The chapter devotes words to detailing a family's complicated day-to-day life and sets up circumstances to surround an event only hinted at in the text. The writing is skillful and moves swiftly under the eye, although there are a few typos and sometimes there are details that could be expressed more compactly or omitted. It's unfortunate, but if Dickens were writing today he'd struggle for a readership.

This is the first time i am reading your biographical post .I had no difficulty in following because I enjoy reading personal accounts. I liked the idea of talking to your late husband.. A different approach..
