This is a beautiful poem, Wendy, and very well written. You ask a lot of questions that we all seek answers for. You encourage us all to be more loving and compassionate to those around us.

A beautifully written free verse Wendy. We are all incredibly needy in this life, it marks us very much I'm afraid, we need to receive love and give love, as sure as the waters that receive from smaller tributaries, the river fills the ocean, a conduit for survival, beautifully written my friend, blessings Roy

Though I'm not fond of free verse, this one is an outstanding exception for effective expression of its important topic. I like the clever dual title ("Perfect sense" and "Perfect senses"), the stanzas for senses (sight, hearing, and feeling -- the last itself with dual meaning), the (bold) three-line relevant soul-searching question after each, plus the concluding stanza and its (bold) three-line expression of purpose.

Every person on Earth should read and contemplate this message because it contains the key to a much happier world.

Superb, aptly illustrated, and worthy of more stars than the six I can give.

Thank you so very much! I greatly appreciate the honour of six stars.
A very encouraging review. Thanks so much too for picking up the typo. (I hate it when I miss those things which spoil a poem.)

You make good, sound, valid points on all three counts. They will be questions humankind will not be able to answer, except on an individual basis, for years to come, if ever. I really liked how you posed the positive first then asked why then... It makes one think.

Very Nice

That's good, I like to make people think, and yes, it is an individual and personal challenge to our attitudes. Thanks so much for your very thoughtful review.

Great, great poem for the contest. I love the way questions push the poem forward. You contrast your appreciation for variety in nature etc. with your honest limitations in terms of human compassion. You end with a plea to have compassion for all people. Brilliant work, Wendy.

Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. God created ALL people in His image. We are ALL His children, and I don't believe God made mistakes. I enjoyed reading your entry and I wish you the best of luck with the contest.

Thank you Barbara! Yes, exactly. He never makes mistakes and values all shades of skin, so why can't we? Many thanks for a fine review, and also for your good wishes.

Nicely done, Wendy. I am going to guess that you spent a fair amount of time on this one. You have finished things off very effectively in the last stanza.

This free verse, Perfect Senses, allows that we definitely have the capacity to extend our gifts to others. Whether we choose to do so is where this poem may lead us. Nice.

A lovely poem for yearning to care for all people, despite differences. the last line accentuate it all with "acceptance and compassion." I hope this does well in the contest.
