Hi Sandra, I had a feeling...wasn't sure...
but you didn't talk a lot about her...and
it just made me scratch my head...or maybe
that was the nits...anyway...

I'm so glad Miles came to her rescue...and
sent Lucy packing...now they can get married...
and live in peace...

I take it Bessie took her home...and everything
she did/saw...was blanked out of her head...that's
just not fair...sigh...

well...I'm off to read the last chapter...

this was another great chapter my amazing friend...
this will make an awesome book...never did find out
if Gwen and Jenkins are going to serve any time...
but I'm sure Miles will take care of them...

I loveeeeeeeee your story beautiful you...and written
like a pro-published-author...that you are...loveee you
over the moon...one of your favorite places to go...Linda xxoo God Bless

    if people only read a poem/story for the money...it becomes a job...and I'm retired...

Excellent solution to the problem of who would kill Meg. Now that she is safe, what will you do about Margot's broken heart? I hope something interesting is waiting for her to return to her own time. I've really enjoyed your story.

~What a lovely review, Carol! I'm over the moon that you've enjoyed my story. Now to see what happens to Margot. Will she hide herself away in a nunnery? :) Thank you, also, for that wonderful sixth star, my friend. You've been a great support throughout. Warm hugs, Sandra xx

Hello Sandra,
So it was the jealous friend after all. Who would have thought. LOL
The scene with Lucy and Meg is well done. I don't think a male author would have such a vituperous confrontation. Must be a female thing. :)
The scene with Jack is also very well done.
Since no one actually saw her cut the strap, I suspect Lucy might get away with little legal punishment, as she didn't kill anyone.
All's well that ends well.
Best wishes.
Robert

Minor thought: Rearranging a few words sounds more spontaneous to me.

'Why, Lucy? I thought you were my friend! What have I ever done to make you want to kill me?'

I thought you were my friend! 'Why, Lucy? Why? What have I ever done to make you want to kill me?'

Alas, Now Margot will return, but I suspect the author will arrange a descendant of Miles, perhaps "Niles", who looks and acts just like Miles, to show up. How much difference can one letter in a name make.

I like the rearranging of that sentence, I'll do that. Thanks, Robert. As for Miles/Niles???? Hmm, don't think that would work! LOL. You're going to have to wait until Sunday to see what happens with Margot, I'm not giving anything away.
I do agree with you on the male/ female acid confrontation, women are far better at it. Lol.
Thank you so much, my friend, for this fabulous review, and the golden stars. I really appreciated both. Lots of hugs, Sandra xxx

I wish I had a 10 star to give you for this chapter, Sandra. It was superb! And yes, I would never have guessed that Lucy was the one out to get Meg. Poor Margot, destined to never see Miles again. You better give this book a happy ending of some sort, or your readers will never forgive you!
As always, I can't wait to find out.

Well, with friends like Lucy, we all better hightail it outta here.
You did a great job, Sandra, with this informative chapter. You
have tied up many loose ends and left open some tangents which
could be new writing. I enjoyed reading this chapter. Lucy was one
bitter woman the way she accused Meg of so many 'things'. She
was also guilty of attempted murder in this chapter. Lucy knew
how to play the poor pitiful me card depending on who was her
audience. You did an excellent job with the scenes that involved
her attempt to get the knife and Margot preventing it. The scene
where Margot had her hands around Lucy's neck was riveting.
I liked Meg's reaction to it. I liked how you had Margot take
one last look at the place before she returned to her time.
The last line about everything going black. . . .was great.
It'll be interesting to see what transpires when Margot returns. I
can think of a lot of questions with number one being, "Will
there be a 'Miles' for Margot?"
Thanks for sharing, Jan

Aww, Jan, thank you for another of your fabulous reviews. I do enjoy them. The sixth star has brightened my day. I'm delighted you enjoyed this chapter. This one and the last chapter are so important, they need to be absolutely believable and right. You can tell me your thoughts after you've read the final chapter next week. Love you lots, my friend. A very happy ending to this chapter for sure. I have to go back and re-read about the friend Lucy...was she always up to no good in her life? Or did we just hear about her in this chapter?

Thank you so very much for another lovely review and another sixth star!! That was just amazing. One more chapter and then everyone's big question will be finally answered.
Lucy popped up a couple of times, but I kept her quite low key, I'm wondering if I should bring her out a bit more when I do my big edit. I just didn't want anyone guessing too soon, even though two readers did.
I've been quite surprised and very humbled at how well this novel has been received. You've all been great. Now to get the book finished. Thanks again, my friend. Love and hugs, Sandra xx

I was surprised it was Lucy who tried to kill Meg because she was in love with Miles herself. He does seem to be pretty irresistible. Lucky really goes through her sorry tale. She sounds totally irrational when she claims Meg stole him from her. She also belittles Meg for her father becoming bankrupt. She tries to lie out of it, but it doesn't work with Miles. and he gets the real story from the stable boy. It looks like Meg and Miles will get to live happily ever after, but that leaves Margo in a state as she loves Miles. To avoid confusion, you might want to write "Margaret leaped forward and put her foot on the knife." Then continue "When Lucy tried to pick it up." I hope Margot finds a guy from her own century to love. judi

Thank you so much for another lovely review, and all the stars, Judi, I really appreciated them both. It's funny, some guessed it was Lucy, and others were very surprised. It surprised me when a couple guessed the identity a few weeks ago! I think there are some sleuths around on this site!! Lol. Now to find out what becomes of Margot. Thanks, dear friend, for your constant support, you've been a great friend. Love and hugs, Sandra xx

This started off with a great confrontation between Lucy and Meg and I liked all the fury in the dialogue. It was a nice twist that it turns out to be Lucy and something I didn't quite expect. But you justified it nicely in her own words. A little playfulness in there too as Margot and Bessie step on the knife and push Lucy around a bit. While she can't see them. An interesting game of blind man's bluff. estory

Crickety! (Sorry, Sandra, I've been dying to write and say that!) I wouldn't say it aloud here in the States, people would find me stranger than I already am! Haha!
What a fantastic twist, my friend. I did not see that coming AT ALL! I can't wait to see what happens when all is back in the present. Loved it! I'm saving my STARS! :)
