Woah, Mystery Writer!
What a lethal final sentence!
Didn't expect that ending, as I thought that the speaker would "string her along" out of possible boredom.
Your writing is engaging fast-paced.
Much enjoyed!

A very clever entry for the revenge contest "Best served Cold"! Your introduction led in well to the scenario and your notes explained the finer details. Well done. Best wishes for your entry.

LOL! That was brilliant! I'm sure you have given a lot of men/women an idea of how to get revenge. I really liked this one, and the women ended up without a home a husband and a lover! Good one!! Well done and good luck in the contest. :) Sandra xx

Your phone is delivering your very own soap opera and You'd think she might be wondering why he doesn't call after three no answer calls. The answer you sent is very amusing, although she may not have a place to live. Oh, well, about what she deserves. Very good job telling the story. Best of luck in the Better Served Cold contest.

I don't know. Your fiction was compelling. I didn't have any questions about its believability. What I do have, though, is knowledge that when the word limit is such and such, the story should end there. It should NOT be continued on in the Author Notes. I know that was not your intention, but it would be a shame if your very enjoyable piece was disqualified because of referencing it in the Author Notes. Especially when it didn't need explanation.

Jay, I never thought about your observation, and really don't care about the contest. So, if I get kicked out so be it. I added the notes because one early reviewer couldn't understand how the phone messages could work. Thank you for reading, Mystery Writer.

I enjoyed reading your story! I am glad it was just fiction - this would be a horrible thing to have happen. It was very creative. Thanks for sharing, and best wishes to you.

Ooooh! This is wicked. And great. You did such a perfect job of luring us into the salaciousness of it all. But then, because he'd been burned himself, it turned (justifiably) wicked. Fantastic contest entry, this!! Good luck in the polls.

The story was interesting. The build up of voice mail messages were suspenseful, revealing a lot of emotion and desire. The recipient took it all in and led the believer that he was going to text the caller that he was not Dudley. Great twist at the end.

How cruel can a dissatisfied heart be. It is so easy to become complacent or unsatisfied with a life that is not as exciting as the lives we see being played out in movies and TV shows. One must remember that in movies the outcome is almost always scripted to favor one particular outcome. It has no bearing whatsoever on the real life that you are living. Be careful what you wish for. Getting it may not be worth that which you threw away to get it. Great story, even if fictional.

Don't you just love those calls you get from someone you don't even know, I'd love to know how she finished up, I don't like Dudley's chances either, the poor hubby, beautifully written my friend, and excellent post, good luck, blessings Roy
