The story called "The Last Goodbye" emphasizes what we all learn as we get older, the most important things in life are what you do for others. When we are children, we can't wait for Christmas to see what we will receive. As adults, we look forward to how our loved ones will react to that perfect gift it took us weeks to find. So it continues to the end of our days; we do less and less for ourselves and more and more for those we love.

Thank you. I made a promise to my husband to keep him home, and did. The last time he was in the hospital I had to sign papers releasing them of any responsibility because I wanted to take Des home. It meant everything to him. Hugs.

This is a tremendous piece of writing, where you reveal all the pain you had to cope with in your annus horribilis. I am so glad you came through it positively. Thank you for sharing. Kate xx

Thank you. It was a tough year, but I survived. I wish I could have had the surgery sooner so I could have enjoyed our last days togather more. Hugs.

The objective correlator of your work reminisces a school of hard knocks in its highest.

The work highlights a faithful protagonist in total care of her husband, Desmer; taking him through hospital medications as well as cherished excursions to places of his delight. But then double tragedy strikes; with her undergoing equally serious pain as well as assuaging the pain of her husband, who eventually dies, leaving her to struggle with her pains until she later recovered.

The work earns its texture through its effective use of anecdotes synonymous with perseverance.

Exceptional work. Keep the flag flying.

Thank you and thanks for the six stars. I appreciate them. That last year was a tough one, but I came through it okay. I made a promise to my husband and would have kept it if I had to crawl. Hugs.

Hi there,

You're definitely right about the pain. I have two herniated discs in my lower back. i refused surgery and live with the discomfort. My dad had surgery for similar and came out worse on two occasions.

This is a well-written piece and I felt every word of it.
I hope it does well in the competition.

Thank you. I guess I'm on of the lucky ones because the surgery did wonders. I have very little pain now. The only thing I notice is a slight numbness in my toes. I'll take the numbness over that terrible pain. Hugs.
