It explores some of the problems this country faces and the effects it has on every day people.
Your also write about hope.
Your message is poetically loud and clear.
If only the politicians would listen, from both sides of the fence.
It will take all of us to create meaningful change.

This is well-written, and you make a lot of good points. I don't necessarily agree with all of your political views, and I may argue that this country has never actually been great, but I can recognize a writer with a strong voice. Nice job!

Thanks so much Liz! I so appreciate your review and kind comments. Even if we agree to disagree, I only know what I have read about in history books and know that things didn't seem so bad when I was a kid, yet we did always worry about the atomic bomb. I think that everyone can agree that morals, common sense and values have to take over if the young kids will have a better future. As always, people like you make it not seem quite so bad. you are a sweetheart!

You make fine points, but the problem is, corruption is so deeply entrenched in our everyday dealings. No one knows who they can trust. Politicians spend lots of money learning what to say and how to say it. Problem is, they do not really mean it. Listen, this world is in such a mess, only God and his son Jesus the Christ can fix it. This world has already shown how they truly feel about Jesus. Even after he proved he was the son of God, they lynched him and sent him back to heaven. They later made him a hero and turned his death into a holiday.

Very strong piece of poetry. It is hard to see where our country has gone. From a strong nation to a squeaking wheel that just rolls around without a destination. One spag or perhaps I just didn't get this line. Our forefathers our had planned. But still a wonderful poem.

It sounds as though your basic message is that if men and women of faith who believe in the teachings of the Bible, governed, our nation would be a better place for all to live and thrive.
