This is an interesting entry in the Beddy-Bye Lullaby contest. It always a challenge to get a young child to go to sleep at this age. Your two rules were quite creative and effective. Well done.

All the best in the contest,

Eugene

Excellent entry for the Beddy-Bye Lullaby. contest. It's an adorable song to put the baby to sleep.

Good luck in the contest.

This is a delightful story for the contest. It's strange how children feel it would be exciting to stay up all night, and I love the way the parent handled this situation.

This children's story, And a Smile on Your Face!, is so funny as the idea follows from one child to his kids. Yes, the desire to stay up is strong and, as we have seen here, easily dealt with.

Thank you Bill. Many parents will identify, I can vouch for the efficacy of the strategy! Lol.

Staying awake kind of takes away the peaceful time a mom and dad have after their kids retire for the night. I remember when the kids went to bed it was my time to relax after a trying day. I don't think this idea is too selfish!

What a beautifully told story. The font size was large, so it made reading easy. I loved the different colored font. It's obvious a Brit writer with the use of Mum. I loved how the practice of being awake all night came full circle. The visual is perfect. Good luck in the contest. You have a great entry.

You are welcome. Well, I knew it was one of the proper English-speaking nations! Nothing wrong with being an Aussie! Your country has been on my bucket list too many years. One day, I will get there.

I know. I taught World Cultures, and we did an entire unit on your nation, landmarks, animals, Outback, Ayers Rock and of course the Aboriginal culture. I had a friend who lived in Perth. I met her in Berlin.

Is this really designed for children? The concept feels very advanced for them to follow. Yet if it is about children for adults to read, the lengthy direct repetition bores the reader. It is preferable to find an alternative way to express such passages. Kate xx

Thank you for reviewing. It is mostly based on what I said to my son when he was little, and he never tired of hearing it. And he obviously remembered.

This is a great children's story. There are always ways of our parents that carry through generationally, and we thank God for the lessons we remember. I wish you much success with the contest. Best, JohnC.
