I love your authors notes and think it is a marvelous idea. It has always amazed me, that I think kids think we were born when they were. Mine were never curious about my life before them. It is nice for them to see you as Humans, not just parents. Blessings, Barbara. Xo

Thank you for the excellent review and comments. I laughed when you mentioned kids think we were born when they were. I remember thinking before I was born, the world must of been in black and white because pictures saw of my folks when they were young weren't in color. The old movies in the forties and early fifties weren't in color either.

This writing is brave and cathartic. The conversation detail and the descriptions are pertinent and paint the picture of life lived through conversation. It is personal. It is valuable. Thank you for courageously sharing. The metaphor of storm and house remodel is interesting.

Masterful interweaving of current events into the gripping narrative. I feel your pain as to losing closet space, and the sunroom project resonates in that we are (were) contemplating same (dream on!) as extension to the basement conversion (to apt.) that my daughter want$$$$$$ (note 6 figures).

was reluctant to take a [dominate=>DOMINANT] role

hyphenate out-of-the-mainstream ... (healing arts)

It was the third named storm to hit North [Caroline=>CAROLINA]

hyphenate category-three ... (storm)

Glad to know--hope it's true in this case--basement conversion project will cost at least 150K, excluding sunroom. Thanks times two for the votes--nomination posted twice!

This was a great chapter, Beth. I liked the way you included
world events along with your family's activities. It seemed your
kids have settled into a more normal routine despite the unfinished
sunroom. I would be worried about 5 steep stairs then the turn.
How sad, too, that you had to let go of so many of your possessions.
I enjoyed reading your informative story.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

North Caroline (Carolina) because Hurricane Bertha had struck in nearly the same area in July

Thank you Jan. The steps were steep but we put rails to hold on too and I had to give up less closet space. We were careful going up and down and no one got hurt. Thank for seeing the typo.
