This was awesome and I don't think your choice of an interviewee was Right On!

I would like for it to be known and understood, that I do not fault the United States military for any of my negative experiences. It is the negative personalities who are members of that body who would be no doubt, doing the same type of things no matter what organization they were a part of. [I really liked that he cleared this up. So many people just lump whole groups of people together when it was just a person or a small group. I respect him for that.]

Thank you so much for sharing this interview. There is so much insight here that provides so much perspective into the past. Nolan's experiences are greatly inspiring. I'm very glad he was able to overcome his obstacles and thrive as a writer.

Debi, you picked a really interesting person. I don't know how he had the courage of his convictions at that time in America. His bravery is a wonderful example of what we all should be, but often fall short. I've also enjoyed his writing. Best wishes for the interview contest.

Thanks for sharing this excellent interview with Nomi338 (aka Nolan) Debi. Although I've seen his name here and there, I've not read anything of his, but now I know I'll have to look him up. Good luck in the contest.

You are most welcome, Debi. No worries about late responses, although I didn't even consider this one late. We all have those times. I've added Nomi to my list of fans. He has some interesting writing, although I'm not much of a reviewer of poetry.

interesting. My life ran somewhat parallel to Nolan's, being seventeen I enlisted for similar reason. I'm glad he survived those times. That said, I hesitate to add Pres. Johnson said with the passage of Equal rights, we'll have their votes (blacks) for fifty years. The dems still have it today, how else can one explain the best the Right has ever tallied has been 12%.

Is one for a story and one for a poem?
reply by Tom Horonzy on 15-Sep-2022
one or the other is a mistake made. No way I can understand how it came to be. I have requested one be removed, as I couldn't figure how to do it.

This was a fascinating and insightful interview. I liked how you posted a picture from Nolan's past and a more recent photo--with his lighted wand. The interview was easy to follow because of the way you formatted it and used different colors for the questioner and the respondent.

I was going to give you five stars, but after writing this far, I"m changing it to six. Now you have depleted my six-star account.
Best wishes.

Leather, this was the loveliest review that we could have ever received.
I am so sorry I didn't see it until now, but I am in the hospital after having my second leg reconstructed & new knee too. So I truly appreciate your comments regarding the pictures and the different color font. And of course the generous gift of six stars are the icing on the cake. Thank you so very much leather. Nomi too, will appreciate all of your kind comments!

Good grief--you have been through a lot. I'm glad you don't have a third leg, or you might be following the same course. Here's to a speedy recovery.
    Best wishes!

Excellent choice you made! I am Nolan's fan, and enjoy his writing. Your probing questions opened the door to show us more of the man behind the words...

With your warmth and personality, you encourage folks to open up. I'm impressed!

I thank Nolan for his service, and am sorry he's had to endure past experiences that might have made another man bitter.

It's made him more compassionate!!!
