What a harrowing experience, but you came through it well. A child's perspective on things is so much different than an adult's. I was in a tornado once and would have been killed had not the AC unit deflected a flying metal storage house from down the street.

Thank you Barbara. It is something you never forget if you on and it takes you into air. I agree God was watching over us because 19 people died in it and about 100 were injured.

Thank you Nancy. I've written several of them and may repost because it has been a while. The town I grew up in has had tornado hit there 4 or 5 times that I know off. A lot of people have storm shelters.

My hometown of Mt Vernon, Illinois is in Tornado Alley as well. That is the main reason I agreed to leave and come west. I feared the Tornado Season after I witnessed one from a mile away. LOL Nancy:)

Good work. It's a nice story.
Tornadoes are wicked things, indeed. One killed our neighbor across the creek holler before destroying our house. My son (9 years old) slept through it, no house around him.

I do remember the miraculous way the Lord preserved you and your mom in this tornado. But this time you covered more about the aftermath and how your house was repaired afterwards.
