Take solace that you have persevered through an abyss of adversity to now soar high above the trees.
I too, suffer from bipolar 1, among many other things.
I became sober over 18 years ago and counting.
My son was just diagnosed with bipolar last week.
I have been medicated for the past 10 years and have a trusted psychiatrist.
Providing the hotline information as well as your sage advice about medication can help anyone who is suffering or knows someone who maybe.
I take comfort in reading your story, we are not alone.
Find your strength Gypsy, and hold on tight.

Thank goodness your suicide attempts were not successful, and you are here to help others by telling your truths so that they may see there is the possibility to thrive despite the fragilities of life. I like your life story- cute picture from your childhood- good presentation- personal touch- good reveal - your journey through your early childhood was apparently very difficult- but your destiny was to have children and to migrate to America- all that you went was necessary to make it happen in this incarnation- or it would not have happened and quite possibly you would have not survived to meet your wonderful children- nor accomplished your many successes- God did not screw up- be thankful for the blessings- AP

A very sad, and brief look at your past Gypsy. One never knows what has made someone else who they are. I am sure your experiences brought you to this point in life.
Para 2, 1st sentence: (At ten year-old) should be (At ten-years-old) year should be plural and add a hyphen between (ten) and (year)
Para 2, 1st sentence: Add a comma after (died)
Para 4, 5th sentence: (15-year-old) should be (15-years-old) plural.
Para 4, 6th sentence: Here you say "my aunts took me with them" but in the next sentence you say "My aunts moved to America ... before I was born." Confusing, should clean that up.
Para 6, 1st sentence: (long term) should be (long-term) Hyphen
Para 8, 2nd sentence: SUGGEST inserting (like) between (feeling) and (I)
Para 10, 1st sentence: Insert (and) between (husband,) and (a)
Thank you for the very sound advice at the end of your article. I have not experienced anything of what you have shared with us, but I have had my down times and a little bit of Doctor's advice and medication straightened me right out.
