Hmm, I'm a bit confused by this entry. I mean, I guess you can interview yourself. This is non-fiction and you talk about your time as a teacher. I don't quite see the question and answer part. Hmm, I guess it will be up to the voters. I mean your writing is good, as per a former teacher.

That?s because it was not an interview. I actually put it in the "Beginning and End" contest, but somewhere in the clouds it changed direction, and landed in the wrong contest. No explanation, but apparently a few people have experienced the same perplexing (and a bit annoying) problem. So I feel silly. I asked Tom, but he couldn?t put it in the right contest because it was too late, but I asked him to take it out of the Interview contest as it?s obviously out of place, but I see it?s still there. Frustrating and more than a bit confusing! Thanks anyway.

Thank you Ann, and I agree with you. I had lots of examples, then had to chop them out because the word limit was only 250 words, which was far too small to do justice to the topic. Thank you though for reviewing. (I have written four or five school stories in the past which also had examples but the stories have expired now.)

I loved your metaphor for "growing a school" as though you were growing a garden. I don't think I've ever been successful as such a large important project as that. This is written very well.

I think that's an old but very sound philosophy. We have stayed repeatedly with friends overseas because we knew when to leave, one friend always cried when we left, we knew we would always be welcomed back, beautifully written Wendy, and well said, blessings Roy

It's tough to retire! I know! I'm not "working" as an RN anymore, but it is as much who I am as what I did!
I guess my only question is, did you mean to enter this into the "Interview a FanStory Writer" contest?
It doesn't seem to follow the question-and-answer format as listed in the rules...
Just me, wondering!

You are exactly right. It was meant to be in the "beginning to end" contest, which is now being voted on, and I have only just woken up. This happened once before, when I paid for one contest but it ended up in another. I am 99.9 percent sure I clicked on the right contest.
I am not amused at technology right at this minute!
Nevertheless thank you for reviewing and for alerting me to the problem. I wrote to Tom, but it?s really too late now.

Thanks Brett. It was meant to be in the " Beginning to End" contest, and I have absolutely no idea what happened, as I?m 99.9 pc sure I chose the right contest. It happened to me once before as well.

So heartfelt. I am so impressed that you and the other staff found such beautiful ways to engage and reach the students in positive, productive ways. I am dying to know what you all did. We have so many devastated teens in our high school that live in such poverty and brokenness from their home lives. They are full of hurt and anger, and I do all I can to love and validate and value them, but I am only one person. Your school sounds like a dream.

Hi Michaela, thanks for reviewing. The 250 word limit was far too short to do justice to the topic. You would enjoy my other school stories, but they have long expired. They start with "The school with the birthday box", and there are about five stories I think.
As for your teaching, the love and validation you offer your students will never be forgotten, and they will be sustained through difficult times. You definitely are making a difference to them.

Thanks so much Barbara. I appreciate your kind review. Somehow it?s been jumbled up and in the wrong contest. I entered " Beginning and End". I?ve written to Tom, but it?s really too late as voting as begun. I only just woke up (Monday here) and was shocked.
