And yes, I've heard that before - better to leave before you are asked to leave, whatever the circumstance.
to believe I was "old enough". - I'm with you. Some have tried to hold to the dictum of placing punctuation within quotes, but in FanStory, where it is so difficult to use italics, or in cases where the writer is merely emphasizing words (not speaking them), that rule takes a hike.

I am puzzled by this story Wendy. I have the impression I have read much of it already in a previous post of yours, that's not necessarily a bad thing if you are using the information to develop a different presentation. But what is the presentation here? You say it is for the Interview an FS member contest. But I have always understood an interview to be based on a journalist and a subject, or some such partnership. I see no sign of this here. I am confused. Has something gone wrong? Kate xx

It?s definitely not an interview. It was meant for the " Beginning and End" contest, and I have no idea what happened. I just woke up, saw it, and wrote to Tom, but it?s really too late. Most of the elements in the story are new except for the application to the theme of beginning and ending my teaching at this school. So yes, something has gone wrong, and I am puzzled, perplexed and disappointed. This happened once before, more than a year ago, and Tom couldn?t figure it out. I just wrote to him as soon as I woke up, but it?s really too late.

Kate, that is so very kind of you and I appreciate it. Apparently the same thing has happened to a few people lately. But I feel silly with it in the Interview contest still, although I did ask Tom to take it out. Never mind. These things happen!

don't worry, silly happens to us all (not always our own fault). I once posted forgetting to check for preview (it was off), so it went up black on black before I'd done the font colour... . I had two messages in the time it took me to finish the posting!!!
