Although I find this a well written story, what I really like is how personal it is - I feel I have learnt so much about you in just these few words.
But then I check and see it's labelled as 'General fiction'. Is this an error on your part or is it really fiction? Because if it is fiction, then I have to congratulate you even further, because I believed every word to be true!

It is fiction because it is a non existent fire. The box is real as is the photo

Your essay gives us a good idea of what is important to you and why you would select each of those five items. I like going through your treasure chest with you and learning about these special mementoes that you have collected over 50 years. I assume your house in Alpine/Pine Valley was destroyed by fire. Okay, just saw this one. You are awesome! Congrats on the giraffe win by the way! By far the best one there. Is it wrong if I didn't vote for my own :)
(Mine wasn't great, but sometimes only I get my sense of humor)
Anyways, I had fun writing this one. Sometimes the stuff that comes from the heart is the most powerful.
