It's a piece children would love! I found it entertaining; the messages were perfect and easy to understand. A poem a parent would have to read to a child, but nonetheless an original write. Loved it! Best, JohnC

Thanks so much John,I truly appreciate that you were so insightful to what I was trying to do here. Lol, it was the messing up of the grammar was the most fun part of this poem. To make it more Dr Seuss like and repeat the words to make it sillier, all while trying to get a great message out there. Thanks so much my dear friend for you very kind comments.

This is so much fun and what a wonderful subject for the contest. A child should have a real childhood with fun, outdoor play, and friends and family all around. My boys loved Dr. Seuss and I read to them often. He's the king of silly rhyme, isn't he!

This is so much fun and what a wonderful subject for the contest. A child should have a real childhood with fun, outdoor play, and friends and family all around. My boys loved Dr. Seuss and I read to them often. He's the king of silly rhyme, isn't he!

Thanks Sally, I love getting silly, especially with children. I still have my two youngest at 11 & 12, that still love laying in grandma's adjustable bed with me and goofing around with me and laughing until they almost fall off. It is so a part of my healing because of all the laughter and joy. I haven't seen them for a while so am looking forward to when I do. And one of them and I have been doing Dr Seuss styles rhymes since he learned to talk. I will start one and he follows with the next line etc.... and now he is my little poet. They call him grandma's boy as he too is so creative. We still do crafts together.
Sorry for being so long winded. Speaking of wind and more, I hear that you guys are about to have the hurricane. Please know you have my prayers and love my friend.

We have similar ways with our grandchildren. Mine love games, especially Scrabble, and enjoy writing. My Sophia has written several books. We are collaborating on was children's story I wrote last year. I got Covid last year on Thanksgiving! and we moved it to this Christmas.
Yes, it is supposed to get bad here by morning. Thank you for your prayers! We need them! You kindness and care mean so much! Blessings to you all,

Thank you for sharing this writing prompt with us. I really enjoyed reading and yes, children do especially like reading repetitive words. Also kids learn best by playing. There's a study that says one of the reasons today's kids struggle with learning and with friendships is they aren't getting enough play.

This is really a cute rhyming poem for kids, I like the cadence of it. I also like the way play is used to describe something that can be fun and productive. Best of luck with this nice contest entry. :)

I like what the writer was trying to convey writing this poem. I like that it's a happy poem and I think it was meant to be fun and meant to encourage the readers to play and have fun. It's a great poem with a sweet jester. It's a little wordy and I would change some choices of word. I also think the writer could have omitted some of the words used and still would have gotten the point across but I still think it's a fun poem and a good poem.
My Choice of words if I could revamp this poem for you would be:
Playing is fun
So play
Much can be learned
play everyday
friendships can be made
along the way
Treat friends good
they will stay
play can be helpful
so play
playful fun is caring
so play carefully
play brings joy
just play
play with friends
thankfully play
Play house
learn chores
earn an allowance
helping mom in stores
Play sports
good sportsmanship scores
Almost as fun
as making s'mores
good times
make time to play
and be a kid

I love your suggestions and not sure what I will do though because I was going with busy words in order for it to sound a little corny and Dr Seuss like. However regardless of which direction I decide, you are truly appreciated my friend.
