The beauty of this poem is its simplicity. And yet the imagery is anything but simple. I could picture the old man and his conversation with his Creator. And yes, the Earth, and life, were given over to our care as responsible stewards.

This is a nice story that is shared in a poem. I love the message of your poem. If you work hard God will provide. And it is told in such a nice way. The rhyme is natural and really helps the flow. Love the use of dialogue to show us what the farmer is thinking.

The farmer is the last bastion of the occupations that still need faith exist. This is a beautifully written entry in this contest my friend, speaking in old King James English, I do like the old fashioned lyrical language, although God knows all the tongues. Beautifully written, blessings Roy
Typo : The old farmer (trods) treads? (present tense you need?

Thank you very much, Roy, for your high praise of my poem and for pointing out my error. Yes, it should be TREADS, but TRODS seems to better describe how a cane-aided old man would walk, no? Poetic license allowed here?
