Well written. Good work.
Interesting that the only (R) invited would be a (D) if he was alive today.
Without evidence (in your piece) that Mohammed converted, I rather doubt the 'best buddies' claim seeing as how Mohammed copied the Holy Scriptures in bold strokes in his creating the Koran.
Best wishes.

This is such a fun prompt, and I have enjoyed reading all of the contest entries which have been very entertaining.

This is no exception!

I like how you actually listed the people and what table they would be sitting at. Very creative!

The list created a strong visual for the reader. It was if I was sitting at the table also.

If I could pick a table, I would like to sit at table two!

Having Bill Gates at that table would definitely make for interesting conversation.

Great contest entry, good luck.!

Your story was creative. Although, I disagreed with some of your guests at table 1. There are many other people that gave much contributions to the world, especially Obama, like Mother Teresa. Nevertheless, good luck in the contest.

well the people chosen were chosen by my muse and I know not to argue and just write what she dictates!

This is where it begins to draw the reader in: "St Peter asked for Sam's help in selecting the invitees and setting up the seating chart." This is such a clever plot. People might ask, 'how did you come up with this setting and plot? "They would have dinner together and talk about world history, what happened to them in their time, and their reflections on modern life." The conclusion deserves a gallows chuckle. Especially the last left out character.

thanks. I came up with the list by thinking about people I would love to talk to. a few are unique - Park Chun He and Mao because of my long involvement with Korea are on the list. BB King because the only ones I ever met were Bill and Hilary Clinton.

This is quite an exhaustive guest list. I'd have loved to be a fly on the wall and hear what they all talked about. Donald Trump's complaints meade me smile. Kate xx

I found the name of your protagonist, Sam Adams, confusing, as Sam Adams is a historical figure from the American Revolution. When you said, "When Sam Adams died," I thought you were talking about the 1800s, which I don't think you were. I suggest a different name for the character. I am also not sure how pagans like Julius Caesar and Alexander, who slaughtered thousands, would get to heaven, but it is your story.

This work has reached the exceptional level

This was wonderful, I enjoyed the unique stetting and idea. And the last line was comical indeed, however it could have been Lucipher who complained. LOL

I would have loved to be a fly on the wall at this dinner party. I think the thing missing from this piece is why the guests were seated as they were. It would be obvious the conversation would be stimulating among these folks, no matter how they were seated, but was there a reason for putting certain people together at the same table. I loved the last line, Trump complained because he wasn't invited. Maybe he wasn't invited because contrary to his opinion of himself, Heaven knows he has nothing to say. :) Nothing that would be truthful anyway.

I like the idea of creating a party for so many well-known characters. I would make one change: I would put Mister Trump at one table with Nero and Caligula, they would surely enjoy themselves in such a splendid company :)

What a dinner party that would have been. Lol. I love how God would serve booze to loosen their tongues. This was creative and had a clever tongue in cheek ending. Great job. Gretchen
