Bill, I had to read this three times to catch on to at least some of the less obvious meaning contained within it. You are remarkable in your writing! I'm sure you already know that, but I'm just amazed. I would wonder how many would read this work and walked away scratching their heads. I would venture some for sure.
I ask that you take a look at one of my pieces. Perhaps you already have and I just can't recall. It's called "a natural progression." I'm working on a much expanded version of it right now that explains where some of the ideas I briefly discuss in that short originated. In sort, I died. Well, sort of.
Back to your work. It absolutely makes me want to read more and to challenge myself to digest and understand. But, then I think it is not your intention that the reader understand as such, but that the reader is stimulated to simply THINK. And that, good sir, is a challenge few will take in this age. Nonetheless, excellent work is what I've tried to say in this book I've written about your 100 words!

You are so kind, Tara, and I wish all my work was as readable as you indicate in this piece. I am rather eclectic and bounce about a bit. I have poems people like and others no one does. I would direct you to the SHORTS in my portfolio for anything serious, though that is no guarantee either.
I have read your story and posted a review.

Now this was an eerie Sci-Fi story telling about the ending of earth. I wish it could have been longer. The portion I read was intriguing. Thank goodness you wrote your story with a large easy to read font size, and you had a visual. I wish you all the best in the contest.

This was quite a story, especially when it's considered that it was written in only one hundred words. Thank you for sharing this, and best wishes to you.

You have written a thought-provoking sci-fi story that raises lots of questions. Who or what is Desi and why has he been told to finish off the human race? One wonders what Dr. Stance's legacy will ultimately mean for the planet Earth. I would love to read a follow-up story. Rod

This is an excellent entry for the hundred word contest
with a theme many will relate to in these trying times.
The end of the human race, and the beginning of a new form
that might perhaps make better use of the bounty.
Well done.
Good luck in the contest.

This is interesting. The Frankenstein, Planet of the Apes, Matrix or Terminator storyline where man creates a superior A.I. that ends the human race. I think did well with your 100 word rendition.
Good luck in the contest. This should do well.

If it's got to end, one would pray it would be that quick and gentle. I found this intriguing. I was both wanting more, some reasoning behind the end. But not a lot you can do with 100 words. Lol. Maybe you can expand on this at a later date. Good luck in the contest. Gretchen
