This story is so cute :) When I was a child, I used to collect little items like stickers, sequins, little boxes - and I hid them in a giant box. I wish you and your lovely granddaughter all the best in your life :)

Thank you so much Joanna for such a lovely review and also for your beautiful six stars. Very encouraging, and greatly valued.

Wendy,

Love this attitude!!! I know -- for certain -- there are plenty of people who wouldn't bother to visit on Grandparent's Day. And if they did, certainly would not give many measures of importance to a lone sequin. But to someone who understands how to get down on a child's level - to try to understand their wee heart - you know what it meant to her - and that easily translates to what it means to YOU.

Lovely!

A touching story about grandparent's day. I know you will cherish the sequin and the memory of being the only grandparent in the class. Brought a smile to my face. Well done.

Thanks so much . A lovely review.
(By the way, I wrote "Symphony of Life" with you in mind. There was a contest to dedicate a poem to someone in FS ("Faux you"), and try to capture their style. In the end I didn?t enter it, because some-one else did a different one for you. And I didn?t think I captured your style as well as I had hoped. But you will see elements of your life in it if you want to read it. Don?t review, as it has expired.

This is a beautiful little story about love. It works very well and the imagery worked so well I could see it all as it happens. Some aschools would have told you to come back the following week so some kudos must be given to the school or at least to the teacher who promoted you to the rank of 'Artist in Residence'.

Thank you so much for your very positive review. They were happy for me to stay, and said they have an "Open Door" policy so people can visit at any time, which is very nice to know. And it was only the kids who promoted me - they just all gathered around and asked for my help. Lol.

I am surprised that you were the only one, we have attended our grandchildren's, grandparent's day when we could, we've been to all of our two grandchildren's days here, (apart from the Covid restricted ones) but only one of of our other boys, they have been in Brisbane, or New York, but we would have, but for the tyranny of distance, I'm surprised you were the only one, we've always had a packed house here, beautifully written Wendy, blessings Roy

I was the only one because they changed the date, but my daughter in law didn?t get the message, as mentioned in the first part of the story. Preschool will be packed with grandparents next week, for sure! Thanks for your comments though. Appreciated.

Yes, you perfectly described unconditional love. I really enjoyed reading. On Sunday afternoon's one of my son's Andrew and his family Zoom's with us. We had talked and play for almost two hours. Andrew said, he needed to start dinner. He cooks on weekends to give Katie a break. So, we said our goodbyes, hugs, kisses, and I love Yous and hung up. About a minute later, I got a notice. It was Andrew, Eleanor was crying because she wasn't finished, talking with Grandma. He wondered if I would continue. Of course, it warmed my heart. Thank you for sharing.

How beautiful! I am glad you were able to resume and have more special time with your Eleanor. We are so similar - I too have an Eleanor (now eight). She?s the one who wrote twice to the queen for her 95th birthday, and after Prince Philip died, and got responses each time. Thanks so much for reviewing. Always glad of your reviews.

Ooo...I love the word gumnuts. Love it! And it gave crowning glory to an already exceptional memoir piece. You have a heart that seeps through every word you write when writing these types of stories. Your organization of how you choose to sew it all together is truly a style that is your own, and it is special. This memory is one of your best in how you craft it. Thank you for sharing this wonderful moment of your life.

This is such an amazing and encouraging review. Your words mean a great deal to me, as do the six stars. A precious gift (almost but not quite matching the sequin! Lol. Nothing can match the sequin!)

This is a beautiful story that makes Grandparents' Day a more remarkable time when the generation of experience focuses in on who needs the attention that is craved.

I loved your little "remembrance" story, of not just your special day as grandmother to Emma, but of your sweet gift you received and the others it was placed with. This evoked such memories for me of treasures from my grandchildren from scribbled notes to small gifts they've discovered or from their toy box or even purchased (mostly at the Dollar Store).

Such gifts are beyond dollar value, aren?t they? Love from a child cannot be measured. Man6 thanks for a very encouraging review, and especially for six stars. They will be in my special dish too (virtual dish at least).

Beautifully told and expressed, and I love how if all comes back to the gift - not what it is or what it cost, but what it meant to the giver. It sounds like you had a wondrous day :-)
