god what a common problem all over the world. It seems we are all getting lost in our virtual worlds and not engaged in the wider real world which has real world consequeces.

In restaurants I see families of four and six on their phones while waiting for their food-and while eating! Does this mean something or someone on the phone is more important, more fun. etc., than family members?

Amen! I am a public school teacher for high school, and boy...if I could beg God to do anything I thought was necessary for our world, it would be for smartphones to disappear. Your image with your poem casts such a shadow of importance on your message. Well Done!

Hi Melissa, don't get me started about all this
technology stuff...it has destroyed kids...and families
as well...
people no longer talk to each other...they text to tell
when someone has passed away...at meal times...everyone is
on a different phones...games and texting...
and kids no longer have to learn how to read...or write...or do their math...you just punch it up on the internet...
I'm old school my sweet friend...where we learned when we
went to school...and we had morals we followed...and we
respected our parents...and their parents...kids played
with safe toys...not real guns...
we need God back in our schools...and in our homes...sigh

Amen to your wise words, dear Linda. I agree with everything you said. We need God back in our schools and in our families. I taught a children's class at our church on Wednesday night and only 3 out of 12 children knew that Exodus was the second book in the Bible... these were 11 year old children. I am still upset about that.

the way things are being taken away from our
kids now...I'm surprised they know what a
Bible is...
teaching them porn in 2nd and 3rd grade...bring drag queens in their classes...
I know God is working for us...and this is all in His plans for us...be I do get confused at times...I believe all of this
was to wake people up...and it truly has done that...but so many innocent children suffering...sigh...

A wonderful 2-4-2 poem to challenge us about a new kind of pandemic. Unfortunately, I've seen it work both ways, where the parents are also tuned out by the obsession with electronics by the child. Yes, sometimes we need a wake-up call. Best wishes in the contest.

I worry when I read something like your post, but I have to confess I'm worse than a teenager. My Phone, iPad and Kindle are my constant companions.
A friend bought me a paperback for my birthday and I'm so used to my e-reader that I'm finding it difficult to get into the story.
