Updated: Yes, I like this better. With rhymes at the end of every line, you've switched formats completely. I didn't intend for my recommendation to produce a complete departure from free verse, but excellent improvement on short notice. A 5 it is.
Prior: A lovely tribute to your best friend. I enjoyed it. The poem is free verse but consider using some poetic devices next time to enhance the reading experience. Even free verse can use meter periodically, as well as alliteration, metaphors and occasional rhyme. Good luck in the contest.
