Not everyone has good old days to recall. Some people have a past of bad old days and are much better off now than they were back then. No one wants to hear my stories.

Thanks for your review very much. I hate that some are relegated to a past only worth forgetting. It can make it hard to find the meaning in the present for some. The meaning sometimes is just not to repeat the mistakes of others but even that doesn't always justify their impact. Some evils just won't die. I hope your days are much brighter now. Thanks for your review!

Oh yes, it's our turn to bedazzle our own grandchildren of our youth and the incredible differences form that time to now, we can't be judged by modern perceptions however they may be. Beautifully written my friend, good luck, blessings Roy

Thanks Roy! I wish it was a matter of bedazzled grandchildren. They just don't seem to care about stories the way we once did. It's a shame. So much of our heritage is an oral history and they are missing out. Thanks for your review!

This is a great poem for this contest, and definitely fits the prompt well.

I particularly liked the last verse - and even more the last line.

Of those days now sepia toned,

A legendary life, a legendary time

Lives on...

If only in my own mind.

Good luck in the contest.

I hear crazy stories from the past, also; I also like to write them (nonfiction). We must realize the hardship our elderly families have gone through to feed their families. The Depression years were bad.

You are so correct. They were a tough generation from a tough time. I can only hope I'm half what my grandparents were. Thanks for your review.!

I enjoyed this. I like how you share you went from the one listening to the stories as a kid to the one telling the stories to the kids. I think this was an enjoyable poem. I like how in just a few lines you share so much.

This is a brilliant entry in The Good Old Days poetry contest. Your words elicit past memories and acknowledge the reality that I am presently living the good old days of my future generations. Well done.

You may want to correct the spelling of the The Goold Old Days at the top of your post unless it is intentional.

All the best in the contest,

Eugene

The "goold" was not intentional and I appreciate you catching it. My phone does odd things at times! Thank you very much for your review!
