A nicely nostalgic poem of the good old days. I cannot remember the last time I saw an actual newspaper. Paper routes a thing of the past....
-What works very well in your writing is the nostalgia and old world feel you create through descriptions and word choices.
A joy to flip through the papers.
A very nice read.

What a great nostalgic piece of work. I really enjoyed this.

Well written. I didn't see any grammatical issues.

Pending no dead puppy stories or angels gave me mouth to mouth and brought me back stories you should do well.

This was a joy to read! What wonderful memories that you have of him. Loved the imagery you shared - I could see him savoring that newspaper and saving the sports page for last. Love his reasoning for reading the comics first. This was a terrific poem - a beautiful tribute to a good man - great job.

This is an exceptional entry in the The Good Old Days contest. You brought back fond memories of reading the newspaper with this write. Everyone had there unique approach or systems to divide up the sections of the paper as they read. Today's digital online newspapers leaves a lot to be desired. The focus is primarily on pop culture and whats new on social media . Real journalism can only be found in the good old Sunday paper. Your rhyming is perfect and reads smoothly. I enjoyed this write. Well done.

All the best in the contest,

Eugene

You have captured the atmosphere of the Sunday paper ritual beautifully. It is a warm and comforting memory for me, as I am sure it is for many It is shame it has passed into history. The illustrations is apt as well
