Yes, Simon was a great kitty, Joanne. I enjoyed the way you shared
what he does at your home. Even if he didn't like being picked up,
he showed/shared his love other meaningful ways. I know what you
mean about staring down the food until it's topped off with a fresh
handful. Those kitty beds are great for catnapping, but a human sized
bed is greater for the night time.

This was a fun piece about little Simon, the cat with a big personality. *smile* That's one of the things I think most of us love so much about our pets. The longer they're with us we understand how they each have a distinct personalities, likes, and dislikes. They are so fun to get to know!
Some notes if I may - to add clarity and a bit more smoothness to the reading:
1.) Sometimes (when) I lay on the couch he will lay next to me(,) close enough without actually being in my arms.
2.) He likes to sit on the patio when the weather is nice (though/but) he doesn't venture far.
3.) We will wake up in the middle of the night and go check the door (to find) he's there waiting.
This was still a very enjoyable post - and well worth that five. Thanks and good luck!

Cats definitely are not no simple pieman.
It took a long time for my cat who I named Gaylord to accept me he was basically going to be put in the shelter because his mommy passed away from cancer so I took him instead.
Gaylord was never properly cared for so of course he had trust issues and it took him a while but when he started to accept me he did it with unconditional love.
He wants to sleep on my chest and he wants to rub his face and sometimes nibble and give me a little lick to show how much he loves me!

He sounds like a great companion cat. It is amazing the different personalities we have been told about on FanStory. Our pets keep us elderly folks moving and that will keep our old hearts pumping. We have three. They are all different and a joy to take care of. Well done Joanne. Nancy:)
