Thanks for the read! I feel like I've just gotten to know a bit of you.. maybe even a lot in this bare-all letter-snap -shot-of-the-year! There are some witty funny lines in here. Put them together and you'd have some great stand up comedy content. Your writing style is accessible, friendly, humorous and colloquial. I like that. If I were to offer some suggestions it would be to keep in and add all the funny narratives like going from covid shots to Jack Daniels. That paragraph worked well as it was short, funny and clever. Tidy up the longer paragraphs so they don't run on with unnecessary words and you'll keep readers happy. So pleased I stopped to read. Happy Christmas to you and yours.

Thank you for posting. This was a very interesting writing.

"I will not report on children, grandchildren, great-great-[grand]children,..." [I think you meant, [grand]children.]

Well, you see that was the problem, we never had kids, so I could never keep what came after then straight. LOL. Thank you for reading and catching the edit. Terry.

I did get that great-great thing changed. I can not believe how many times I saw that without seeing it. Thanks, Terry.

I must say, this is possibly the most different Christmas message. Elaine and I used to go receive, .(from very close friends of ours,) an annual letter of their successes, their children's successes, and every else one, we thought of calling our subscription, but opted out. They are quite nice really, Beautifully written Terry, blessings Roy

A truly delightful newsletter highlighting your writing skills and devilish sense of humor.
My own letter would have been drab. Here I sit very content in Blue Massachusetts. And weather permitting, for our Christmas celebration, I plan to get a couple of deck chairs, a gallon or two of wine and sit and admire our chimney. Just before Thanksgiving, we shelled our $6650 to keep the chimney from falling down. If they can put a bow on a car, I am sure that I can put one on our chimney.
A very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
I am looking forward to more of your stories in 2023.
Mary

Mary, your plan sounds wonderful. I don't even have a fireplace in this condo. Thank you for reading. Terry.

Your holiday letter brings lots of health news. And Fan Story is a wonderful website to write about one's news in a newsletter. What better place to be than here, on this cleverly knowledgeable writer's website? I have learned lots from being here.

Natural kneecaps, or replaced?
It could be said your closest friend is Mr. Daniels. Is that a bourbon, which was my favorite medicine until I stopped partakement (sic) in '83.
Wax on; wax off, or is that out? Hmm. Exactly how does wax get in those ears?
Always a better writer? Are you sure you are not democrat? Hunpwhistle may be, too, living in the lesser Northwest, unless he abodes East of the Cascades. I believe the votes are rigged.

For a first Christmas newsletter, you did a great job, Terry.
I enjoyed your approach. I liked the humor in it such as the
drive-thru lines and not including kids, grandkids etc. Well,
you don't have any of those. Your details of the past year made
this fun to read. Wow, a lot of pills, but then, you are still here
as this writing proved.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes for a great new year, Jan

Terry, this was just wonderful. I just loved it! It reminded me of the letters that my mother and her sisters and brother used to send around to each other in a Round Robin. This was before the invention of computers! Some of her friends used to do letters like this. I'm afraid mine would be really short. I haven't really got anything to tell! I only take 2,184 pills a year, so I can hardly compare! ;)
This was a really fun read. I adore all of those people on FS that you mentioned. They were all my besties when I first came here, and all taught me so much! The thing that makes me craaazy is when you want to teach a new person the simplest of things, and they won't listen at all, and they won't take any advice. You can see that everyone has been saying the same thing. People like us, we take all that good advice and soak it in for all we can! Whether we ever publish or not, we have a good time and we don't suck anymore!
lol...
This was such fun to read! Good luck in the contest!
Susan :)

Susan, LOL, thank you for the six stars. You are a little short on pills, and Lord help us all. It is more fun to look at the humorous side of these life issues. Thanks, Terry.

Thank you for this entertaining overview of your year. We are so blessed to have you, Terry! And God put you in contact with Ann, a beautiful soul to have as a friend nearby. It is rare thing to actually meet a fellow Fanstorian live and in person!!
And yes, Lee is a fabulous writer and I'm still hoping he will publish his books - especially his current one.
I know when I started here six years ago, I had to learn so much about grammar and dialogue. I'm happy to say, I think I've improved a lot so I hope you feel that way, too. But most of all, it's a great place to socialize and get to know some wonderful people!
Thank you for creating this contest and thank you for being YOU!
Best wishes in the contest and all your future ones!

boost or deflator at the case may be. (as the case)
