You say you are not a poet, yet your words are pure poetry to my ear. This was lovely, sad, regretful, everything that makes a poem live in the heart. I'm sorry you lost your friend, but you do have the memories and laughter of the time you did share. This is always the golden nugget that can't be taken away. Well done, it was beautiful. :) Sandra xxx

Wow, Hi Sandra! Thank you for reading, your kind, encouraging comments, and all the stars. This poem came to me in a dream, as if she was speaking to me. I went over it in my mind for three days until I had to write it down, and it all just flowed out at once.
I feel her here in spirit, and the memories are fresh and beautiful.
    Thanks again,

You are a poet since your heartfelt tribute to an unforgettable beauty is very poetical. I liked the way your portrayed those lonely days.I also felt sad reading 'no service,no sad mourners,...'

Hi, Wendy, thank you for reading, your heartfelt comments, and all the stars! This devotional came to me in a dream, as if she was telling me what to write. Turned it over for three days, then had to write it down. I still feel her here, in spirit.

For someone who's not a poet, you sure constructed this well. Your words flowed with the true grace of a gifted poet. The emotion in these words come across beautifully. Well done Mr. Non-Poet. I thonk you need to re-evaluate your opinion. In my eyes you qualify not only as poet, but as a GOOD poet.

This work has reached the exceptional level

Hello!

I absolutely had to leave a review on this work; I lost my beloved grandmother who was a pillar in our family and community last Christmas, and she is in our hearts as we draw nearer to the holiday season.

The artwork that you chose accompanied your piece wonderfully, and the title of your work truly served it.

A few things; your rhyme scheme is incredible. I love that the syllables don't line up and give the work a bouncy rhythm, but that you still incorporate rhyme. You are able to communicate the uncertainty, confusion, and grief of loss through your meter and I am impressed.

Moreover, you conclude this piece in a beautiful way--enforcing a sense of acceptance and closure instead of pain and anguish.

Beautiful; thank you for sharing.

Wow! I am honored and humbled! Thank you for reading Marin, your amazing comments, and the galaxy of stars! This girl was only 19 when she took her life. I still miss her and wonder. The poem came to me in a dream. I pondered the lines and verses for three days, then had to write them down. I usually write fictional narratives, but when I started writing the lines down, everything came to me in a rush. I feel her still with me in spirit.

This was a warm lament for a lost friend. Funny how physically they are gone from us, yet the space in our hearts is never empty. Love and friendship continue. This was beautiful. Great job. Thanks for posting. Greychen

This devotional and tribute to your past significant other are written well and the artwork by avmurray tells the story of her ghost coming to see you in your dreams.
I love the rhyme structure it is unique to this form. In your author's notes you say you are not a poet but from what I can see you write moving and beautiful poetry. Thanks for sharing this lovely poem.

Memories. So hard either to banish or eradicate for ever. We take them along. The poet languishes as the significant other goes further in time yet her picture, image or vision lingers in his memory "Gone but never forgotten." We hold on to these memories which give us strength to move on. A gentle, painful well described life event. Michael

I am so sorry for your loss and these words are from the heart, good rhymes here with an uneven metre, but your message came across loud and clear, you miss your friend and feel the grief, a touching poem, much enjoyed, love Dolly x
