The innocence of a child, not knowing what their actions have caused are precious. Unfortunately, for the grandfather, it erased what he had accomplished and now has to start over. But, he took it well and rather enjoyed his time with the granddaughter.

Thank you for your thoughtful and positive review.

This is a wonderfully written piece about knowing what truly matters, and how a positive approach to life and events can be a marvellous thing. Sometimes, being content truly can be a simple choice.

Thank you very much. Yes, it is often just a choice we make each day, moment by moment, as to how we react to disappointments or upsets.

This is a really sweet story with the perfect ending. It was nice he'd gotten the puzzle more nearly finished, but it was an accident that it was messed up. It just gives the grandfather more time to enjoy putting it together. This was well-written and proofed for errors.

There's really nothing else to do but pick up the pieces showing grace and forgiveness. What a wonderfully written story full of love.
Good luck in the contest!
Have a great day, and God bless.

What memories come to mind while I was reading. Think about it. We all have experienced this with our children or even with friends. This was so well written that I felt the resignation and love of grandpa and the love of grandma trying to smooth things over to ease his mind. Thank you for sharing!

Hello, Mystery Writer!
What a well-written piece of fiction that resonates with me deeply.
As a grandmother of two toddlers, and possessing a home filled with treasured "knick-knacks," I could certainly relate to the dynamics at play in your story.
A few chipped treasures now and then, but all can be replaced and/or thrown away... but not the love I hold for my dear little Porter and Bowdie...
Your story moves along well and is realistic with well-defined characters and plot.
Thank you for sharing!
Best wishes!

Nice story. Very well told.
I thought the pieces might be something irreplaceable, an heirloom destroyed, an ingenious scientific breakthrough made useless, a necessity of life ruined, portending calamity.
-a puzzle-
Best wishes.

Lol. Good - that was what I was hoping people would think! For him, however, it was special and precious, I'm sure!
Thank you so much!
