This piece creates imagery with each word. The cumulative effect combines all the raw feeling embedded in each of those images. Over all it made me sad. I felt the author intended to evoke at least that response, so good work! Free style it is. I missed the structure tho.

Structure is the cross. It is free style. Thank you for reading.

This is a profound, both in words and in pictures. It speaks so much to the human condition and the suffering all around. The outline of the cross in the form of the words gives an extra edge. I enjoyed it.

I really like this. I'm generally not a fan of free form, but I like the fact that you use a Whitmanesque quality of cataloging without adding any commentary. It's simply ubiquitous. Love how you played with the font. Really great job with this.

Mankind has been causing suffering and death since the beginning of time. Your presentation, words, and placing all the suffering in the shape of a cross are brilliant and creative.
Good luck in the contest.
Best wishes,
Mary

You did a great job with your poem, Kaiku.
I enjoyed reading it. Your presentation was
awesome. I like the idea of a shape poem, and
the words you chose fit the theme well.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

Thank you. For me the ?shape? poem all started many years ago when reading, ?A Leaf Falling?

The words of the poem fell like a leaf. It has just stuck with me.

    Thank you for your review.

Thank you for sharing this writing prompt entry with us. Man has been suffering and doing each other wrong since the beginning of time. I don't know what it'll take to stop it. I enjoyed reading.

We'd like to think that there is always hope, Author, after all, it was the only thing left at the bottom of Pandora's box. I'm beginning to wonder, these days, if someone's gotten hold of said box, and just tossed the lid to one side.

This concrete poem, Suffering is..., lists all of the horrors we may know or simply remember at once. Mankind, featured at the end, may be the basis of all suffering.

Ciao poet, you have now 5 votes!

Life is full of suffering and what makes it even more so tragic is that it doesn't have to be that way , but our leaders are corrupt and greed fuels most of people s actions.

We even go against our own well-being .. we continue to exploit Mother Nature s resources and now we reap what we have sown: pollution , climate change.

Our planet is dying and if our leaders don't start caring , man s sufferings will be more.

PS: you didn't put on your list FAMINE in Africa .

You put war shouldn't that englobe Ukraine?

DISEASE : There is another serious out break of Ebola in Uganda.

Child labour ??

I can see why all those things are included on your list of people or things to do with suffering. Yet some are the causes of suffering, others are the recipients of injustices leading to suffering. They are not differentiated, and I wonder if they should be?
Best wishes for your entry.

You are correct. The overall message is that we suffer from many different angles and reasons. Thank you for your comments.
