This is a beautiful tribute and what a wonderful reminder of your mother and her artistic talent. Love the fact that you've filled your archway with her art (a symbolic location). I'm glad I have my mother's work ..it's like having her near... I feel her presence. I loved to watch her work .. she had her own spray booth and electrical kiln and the statues are fired at 1,200C in 18 hours.
They are hollow of course ..She used red and white clay and often she would spray statues in white clay with a blue or very light pink glaze.
A couple of years after her passing we donated her equipment to a monastery nearby.. the monks were already doing woodwork and wanted to expand and do ceramics.
They needed a small crane to put the kiln on the truck..very heavy.

If the sculpture pieces at the top of the page are samples of her work, she was indeed gifted. Was she formally trained or was it an innate gift? Good luck in the contest. You have a good entry. The sculptures are hers , she was self taught .
She began with brush and canvas and then bought books and started creating ceramic pieces.
Mamma was also very artistic..she performed Indian and flamenco for 15 years in public.

Your mother was a gifted woman. It is not easy to create ceramic works. I tried it for a while but never got that involved. Your poem is a lovely tribute to your mother. I wish you luck in the contest.

I don't paint anymore, but my thing was horses when I did.

I love horses? great subject to paint ? running in the wind or in a stream .
It s a shame you stop painting.
It relaxes and is rewarding.
Maybe this winter you will pick up the brush again😊

Yes the artwork you see were created by my mother.
I added more detail in the note section , the pieces were fired only once at 1200C in 18 hours.
Pieces are hollow of course.
She started ceramics later in life .
My parents ran their own travel business and were for years on the move.
My mother also painted.
For many years she also dance flamenco in public. She was very artistic.
