Enjoyed your circus poem about the opposite of high heel shoes. Yes, flat walking shoes are good but arch-support athletic shoes are even better because it helps with plantar fasciitis! Lol.
Best wishes in the contest!

Thank you Helen for the very kind comments about my poem. I am looking forward to being in ones a lot better for the feet than the picture included .
Actually it was kind of silly, but some days we all need silly and for sure something to laugh about! Thanks again for your thoughtful review, my dear friend!.

Thanks Jake for the kind review and comments. Lol, it's not that I really love them so much, but wanted to poke a little fun at Sally's Circus Poem, "I Love my High Heel Shoes." They are so much fun to write so I had to make that my ode. However I look forward to wearing them again and walking after a long time without. Thanks again my dear friend.

I, too, am a Hey Dudes fan! Fun poem. After the first stanza, the rhyming was actually solid. The transition from total free verse to rhyme was surprising.

Hi Charles. Actually in circus poems, the rhyming is more sporadic. Sally does more free verse in hers and because my style is mostly rhyme, I have to take note to not rhyme so much. I guess that's why she calls them Circus Poems because there is something going on different all the time. I did this one to poke a little fun at her for one that she did called, "I love my high heel shoes." So this is like a spoof of that. Do you know Sally Law? If you look at her portfolio and see her stuff, especially that poem, she is amazing. She mostly writes detective mysteries. She is known as the blind detective. And she is blind in real life too. But if you do, you will be amazed at her work.
So she is blind and I am crippled. I haven't walked in years because my lupus took that from me, so we both try to have fun with our writing because it keeps us from the ole pity parties. And I do love my hey dudes. I actually have a couple pair and they are good enough for what I need. So I hope that explains my ode to Circus Poems a little more. You probably won't see them much, but they are so much fun to write. I know that some others write them too. And I thank you my friend for such a kind review and comments. You are such a thoughtful reviewer and I thank you again my friend.

Circus poems - Yet another form of poetry that I never knew existed. Everyday on this site I am introduced to something new. Thanks for the explanation of poems and personal introduction. I now more fully appreciate the humor.

Wow, you REEEEEEEALLLLY love those flat walking shoes!! My favorite part was that you can walk so far in them even your fitness tracker can't find you!! Funny!

Cute picture to go with it, too. Good luck with this in the polls!

I understand, Mystery Author, how much you love, love, love
your walking shoes. What a fun contest entry. I remember
reading the one referenced in your notes. You did an awesome
job with your ode. The picture was perfect for your well-chosen
and thought-out words. I loved the way you formatted the lines.
I know that was how Sally's was written, so it's part of the structure.
I liked the offset lines and the cursive font. Great job with that
part. The end rhymes added much enjoyment as I read. Overall,
this was awesome contest entry.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes in the contest, Jan

Thanks so much Jan. I appreciate your sweet review and comments and also for your gracious six stars. I have a little bit different way of doing mine than Sally, but they are similar.. speaking of Sally, I saw your review on her poem. It was awesome!
I have another reason for looking forward to wearing them in the Spring, but I can't tell you what it is or you might guess who I am. Lol! So you will see after the contest. Thanks again my dear friend.

This is a very cute and very well written ode to your flat, flat walking shoes. I have to give you a big Amen to that. I love flat shoes too. If I wore heels, I would break my neck and probably the one in front of me too! This is so cute. Thank you for sharing. love and blessings, teri

Thanks so much Teri. You are always so sweet and I appreciate your lovely comments and gracious six stars so very much. As much as I look forward to wearing them in the Spring, I mostly wrote this one to poke a little bit of fun at Sally for her Circus Poem, "I love my high heel shoes." And although nobody can write the poems quite like her, they are fun.
Thank you again for your wonderful six star review, my dear friend!

This is a creative way to write an ode, I appreciate your muse:)

The overall format reflects the fun, light hearted sentiment that you have penned.

No formal rhyme scheme reads musically to me, and is quite enjoyable to read.

This poem is an ode with mixed rhyme and free verse parts. It shows how comfortable gym shoes, or any flat shoes are. It sounds like you are lamenting a long Winter of wearing boots or having to where heels at work. You did a good job with being humorous (not humerus (an arm bone).
I work from home so I own to high heel shoes. I fact the only time I have worn high heels is to a wedding. Those I borrowed. I tried to buy some fore another wedding, but the show salesman wouldn't sell them to me because he said my arches are too fallen to wear such shoes comfortably or safely.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Joan

Lol, Joan I think the funny bone is on me. When I kept trying to put the humorous in, autocorrect must have jumped to the other one. I may have missed a letter because I type too fast. Thank you for catching that. Actually it is not so much that I love the shoes quite that much, but I was trying to poke fun at Sally's "I love high heels" circus poem. Yes, trying to have a little fun with it. I do thank you for your kind comments my friend. You are always so sweet and I do appreciate it. But I am excited to wearing walking shoes again, but not for the reason's I gave. Lol, if I told it would give away my identity. I have never been able to wear high heels either, so I know what you mean. Thanks again Joan!

    You?re welcome.
Auto correct can be a Nuissance at times.

Men have never understood the intricate relationships between women and their shoes.

Although I do have a pair of Brooks that I feel pretty strongly about!

Good work. Whimsical and witty.

Thanks Douglas, this is more about my answer to Sally's, "I Love High Heel Shoes" Circus Poem that she wrote. You might even say that I was trying to be funny by poking fun at her, because I could care less about shoes as long as I have them and they are comfortable. Thanks my friend, for an always great review and comments.
