Ciao mystery poet, you have two votes now.
They are majestic creatures indeed, and to think people hunt them for sport makes me sad.
The females herds are nomads but when the stags start to roar during the mating season( Sept/Oct) the females return.
The Stag in the early morning mist is a sight ..he calls and you can see his warm breath in the cold.

This is a Rhyming Contest Entry rich in Theme and Imagery.
It speaks basically on our lovely deer which in New Jersey they can sometimes cause problems especially on the Garden State parkway.
The hunters will cull the population making it easier for the rest to survive for food is sparse in New Jersey.

And yes dear are very beautiful indeed especially see them with their young but to see them carelessly run over on roads is horrible.
