When people are allowed to carry a firearm then they could become a killer and when guns are in the hands of unstable people, then life is mean less, a poignant and chilling write, love Dolly x

Hmm, structurally, this is sound, and you do a great job with the presentation. But, I think you lose credibility and purpose, when you deviate from what should be about 'human emotions in a ironic or satiric way' into politics, specific nations, and a little bit anti-prayer (or faith).

Killings happen everywhere, to all people, and have been happening throughout 'human' history, with or without politics or prayer.

Perhaps you are right. I was just stating how mass killings are dealt with presently in our nation. The political figures on both sides of the aisle offer only prayers and no solutions. Thanks for the review.

Damn! It won. I guess most folks got the memo that killings are everywhere in the world, but MASS killings are occurring Only in the USA. Lived in Europe 10 years and out of all of those nations~zero mass killings.

Congrats. You have a good positive sentiment. I'm not surprised the demographic of FS loved it. But, mass killings happening Only is the USA, is categorically false.

I know this isn't something people like to think about or research. They see the news and feel a certain way, but research will show that the US is not unique.

But really, Congrats on the win. Knowing and writing to ones audience is the hallmark of a smart writer.

Yes, you make a valid point when viewing nations per capita, I know for sure I feel safer in America than any of the Central American nations and in some countries of Africa that are constantly have tribal conflicts. I'm a smart writer with some skills too. Thanks again for your comments and review.

The poet complied with all the rules required in writing a senryu. The 575-syllable count is on point and the emotions are felt in those three short lines. I enjoyed reading this. Thanks for sharing.

Sandra,
Your senryu poem is painfully true.

Congress is so out of touch with the lives and demises of ordinary people. If they were listening to an answer to their prayers, I believe God would chide some of them, and have them do more for people's plights.
Excellent poem, Sandra,
Good luck.
Blessings,
Cindy

Unsafe nation, indeed. There seems to be nowhere we can hide from madmen with unlimited access to guns.

This is a red, white and blue poem in every sense. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Pam, for the review. Oh, how I wish I could say your comments are not true, but I cannot because they sadly are.

Sad, true commentary on what has become of our once-impressive nation. You have captured it succinctly and made it even more heart-wrenching by using the colors of our flag. Extremely well done, Sandy. Xo

All incumbents back in. Seems everybody is just fine with everything. I'm an Independent. I say vote EVERYBODY out until things change. Unfortunately common sense has died.

I love the coloring on this. Very nicely done.

Because faith requires no weaponry, if we pray and deny that Jesus said, Those that live by the sword shall die by it.", those gins have to go, otherwise you're enemy is within, beautifully written, blessings Roy

This is such a sad Senryu, but one that strikes at the truth of it. I feel so very sorry for the parents of all the children who have been shot down in their innocence. How can anyone say there is nothing wrong with shooting? Well done, this is a very hard-punching poem. Good luck in the contest. Sandra xx
