I enjoyed reading this conversation between these two characters. Who knows what could have happened if they had chosen to follow the light instead of just going out for ice cream? Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

The bigger challenge was to find nothing more than what they saw for they had agreed to be home by ten. Thanks for the read and comment.

Writing dialog only isn't an easy task. But it sure gets easier when your breezing through the lines on your way to Ben and Jerry's for a dip or two. Thanks for sharing.

I see and thank you for staying busy today. It would be so easy to fall asleep on the sofa listening to endless football calls. I know. It's what I've been doing since 1pm

Nice concept.
I doubt that a speaker (dialogue only) would say "I. D. K."
What if it is overcast? And raining? - Read this aloud and see if you wouldn't contract 'it is'.
Besides, mother told us to be in by ten. - I've never met anyone who would say 'mother' like this. But maybe it's just me. Maybe most people say "Mother told us..."
Being kids, I'd guess that the answer to your last question would be Sonic, Tastee Freeze, Dairy Queen...
Sorry, but I just don't hear kids on bikes speaking like this.

Your first two suggestions were spot on and I have updated them.
Re-reading your suggestion from Ben and Jerry's is not uncommon in New Hampshire which is what I thought of with the posted picture. In suburban areas Dairy Queen would be likely, too.

Great idea to utilize the two fonts! A feel good piece just right to give me the warm fuzzies as I tuck into bed this very early Thanksgiving morning. (1:08 AM!)

Such innocence! Such light hearted banter!

I'm with you, Tom...

First star...every night...same wish.

(Peace!)

Sorry I blew through my six stars as I was so excited to be up and online again!

I'll make it up to you...

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

Karenina

This is a very well written dialogue you have penned for the contest. You used very good dialogue that read really smooth. The art work you chose went very well with your words. I used to wish on stars when I was little. I still love looking at the stars now. Best wishes in the contest. Teri

I enjoyed your fun contest entry, Tom.
I liked the way you formatted the lines
with the 2 fonts. The story was fun to
read--sounded just like real conversation.
I liked the picture. This reminded me of the
movie ET where they're flying through space
and the boy is on his bicycle.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes in the contest, Jan
