Debi! This is so inspiring! The Holy Spirit muse was surely guiding you in this gently devoted verse!

I must share ... Several weeks back a neighbor lost his wife very unexpectedly, age 48, of an aortic bleed.

We were all shaken to the core...and asked, as we humans tend to do, why oh why did God see fit to take her?

At her funeral Mass the organist was present, but the soloist did not arrive...

The organist began the opening notes of "How Great Though Art" ... and faltered, stalling for time...hoping the soloist was 'round the corner...

Three false starts... Still no soloist.

(We found out much later he was tied up in a highway crash-- not in the crash but hopelessly at a traffic standstill)

Dear God.

Chills on my arms as I saw Maryanne's husband stand and walk with determination to the front of the church...

He nodded to the soloist...

He, bereaved widower, who none of us had ever heard sing more than an out of tune "Happy Birthday" over the years...

Debi!

He sang "How Great Though Art" -- his right hand resting on his wife's casket...

A voice as true and pure and rich in love and faith as could be!

The Holy Trinity were surely gracing his soul as he offered thus, his final act of love, to Maryanne.

With your permission I would very much like to share your poem with him.

"If you were to ask me, who leads me in my life..."

Yes, my faithful friend!

Your words are pure and true as notes from an angel's harp!

Karenina

Oh Sweetheart, what a sad but beautiful story you told. I would be honored for you to share this with him. I just edited to make sure my meter was good and I believe that it is now. The name of this prompt was to inspire others about your faith and God never fails to amaze me that He can do just that, as I hear your request. I am so very sorry to hear about your friend tho.
As you know how He worked in your life when things looked their worst, you found a shining star among those who love you to show how important it is to inspire those we love, as I hope you feel that love. There is no such thing as coincidences, just God or satan's acts of love or evil. You were given both and I am so happy for the outcome of love shown to you. And continue to pray that the evil situation keeps improving.
Thank you my wonderful sister in Christ for the lovely words for my poem and for being one of my best friends here. I love you dearly and I hope you always know that. Debi

Thanks for permission to share this with him... He is a man of great faith and related that he felt compelled to sing, in pite of no training or experience!

Yes....I do know very well the selfless acts of love, and feel so blessed!

In the end, alk we have to offer is our hearts, friendship and faith...

How lucky am I to have met you, who exemplify all of this and more!

I hope you are over Covid now, and that PT is progressing with maximum benefit!

You are in my prayers daily!

Oh shoot, I almost forgot, I was going to share a little Thanksgiving surprise with you. I purposely waited and then was so exhausted and hurting last night that I didn't get to talk to you. I have been walking with the Walker the last couple weeks. I was so excited to get from point a to point b without a wheelchair. We are hopeful that another couple weeks, I can build to using two canes, then one and none. For now I am thankful to be where zip am, moving again! Yay!

WOW! What an AWESOME testimonial, Debi. You did an
exceptional job with the contest prompt. I loved the image
and the way you devoted a whole verse to the Holy Trio.
Of course, your rhymes were great, the flow was smooth,
and your words were straight from your heart. I loved the
repeated phrase 'if you were to ask me.' That keeps the poem
smooth flowing and ties it together. Your introductory and
concluding verses were thoughtful and gave readers much to
think about in their lives. It's easy to see how your faith guides
your life and how you love sharing it.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes in the contest, Jan

Thank you so much Jan! Wow, I just noticed that my favorite singer was up there singing one of my favorite Christian songs. Thank you my sweet Angel! You never fail to amaze me.. I was waiting for the code, and I had to change some words around that I didn't like. I like it better now, so I was reading it and there it was. You are everything'I said in your birthday poem and so much more. Thank you also for the beautiful words you had for it..

Good luck wishes in the contest entry, Debi. It was a great picture of the Christ and God. Your words proclaimed God, the Holy Spirit, Christ to be the most important. Indeed they are important, very well done and greatly enjoyed. Blessings n Hugs!

Hi Debi, your poem is heartfelt and beautifully penned. When we walk with the Holy Spirit, He will guide us down the right path in life.

I especially liked:
In our lifetime we have many kinds of love, that's worth the bother
But the one that means the most, is my God, my Heavenly Father

(Yes, Debi, He is the One who will never leave us--not even in our darkest hour. Suggestion: "But the "One" that means--one vs. One???)

Good rhyming scheme. Well-chosen photo. A pleasure to read.
As this is a contest entry, I wish you good luck. Margaret ~ LB

This work has reached the exceptional level

The good thing is we can't help Him, and if we allow Him, He will guide, protect and keep us in all our ways. I try to copy Him, there are examples that dear folk here we can imitate, but as Paul, follow me as I follow Christ, we have to give Him our complete trust, that is the only way, I don't give myself the choice, I try not to have earthbound opinions, His ways are way, way above my ways. I can see you do too. Beautifully written Debi, blessings Roy

Roy, you are always so sweet and I appreciate your kind comments. When this prompt called for spiritual entries, I thought how it seems many do not speak of the Trinity too often so I wanted to share my knowledge of what I have been taught and to respect our Holy Spirit because He too is part of our faith.
Thank you for the special gift of six stars my friend. Thanks for your whole beautiful review!

    I love your strong wisdom.
I can never learn enough new, about our Holy Trinity.
It makes me wonder how so many are into their ghost stories, when they have the greatest ghost story living inside them. The Holy Ghost.
Now that is a remarkable story.

"If I was" should be "if I were" because of the subjunctive mood.
Other than that, I loved your poem. It was lovely. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

LOL, and I even looked it up and it said to use was for past tense and oh it was confusing. I used to pride myself on my grammar but this one confused me. I am going to change it right now. Bless you my sweet friend. Thank you so much for your help and your lovely comments.
