I was sure the snake would get the baby mongoose! But nope! Always a surprise ending in store. I suppose you always have to look out for the brave little guys that don't know any better than to rush right in and go for the head of the snake!
Jolly good!
Susan :)

Baby Mongoose bit the snake(')s head off. << add apostrophe

Bill, why does this sound vaguely familiar? (Hahahahahaha!) Seriously, do you have bad dreams? (Hahahahaha!)

I enjoyed your story about snake and the three mongooses. I think Aesop and Mother Goose could have both used your help. They didn't know how sliming one's breakfast, burping and farting could add so much to a story,

Perhaps the belching and farting were edited out over the centuries.

This sounds like a take on Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The snake is no Goldilocks, however, and I'm glad baby mongoose bit it until its head fell off. Reminds me of that story about the little girl who turned around and bit the snake after it had bitten her. Very vivid details in the story, and quite creative. judi

Thank you, Judi. I am looking at some more oldies to parody.

    You're welcome. There's always Humpty
Dumpty. Private investigators still contend it was murder, not suicide. judi

The proof in this pudding is clearly, despite the age of the mongoose. Messing with their food is a bad idea, and it could lead to your losing your very head for the offense.

LOL!!!!!! You make my tummy ache! Baby Mongoose bit the snakes head off! LOL! You really are so funny. That poor snake should have been told by his mother that mongooses eat snakes!! Lucky he only ate the nice egg. Another hilarious story. Well done!! :)) Sandra xxx

This is extremely funny. There is justice in the world, and the best comes from the mouth of babes. I really must go back and re-read my 'fairy tales'. If the snake is dead. Does this mean there won't be any more of these? I hope you'll find a way around the Catch-22 you have created, as I am starting to really get into them. Kate xx

Revenge is sweet here and the snake is full of regret, did you know that a collection of Mongoose is called a gaggle? A fun post, life can be cruel in the wild, love Dolly x

An entertaining version of the Goldilocks story with a most fitting ending. It's good that Baby Mongoose got back for his missing egg and was safe from being eaten himself.

Haha. Baby Mongoose is the most brave one. He cold also dig out the rotten egg in the snake's belly. I found a typo:
the snail coiled up and fell asleep. ->the snake coiled up and fell asleep.

Well done.
